*yawns* all this huge and sudden and very vocal campaign about "ohmygawd I changed my mind I totally should've voted other way around" is prolly media laying some ground for gov'ment to say later "oh that wasn't legally binding anyways so no harm done" and ignoring the whole shennanigan.
Democracy is overrated.

I am not sure if this is counts as a campaign. More just people being people on internet.Hasta wrote:*yawns* all this huge and sudden and very vocal campaign about "ohmygawd I changed my mind I totally should've voted other way around" is prolly media laying some ground for gov'ment to say later "oh that wasn't legally binding anyways so no harm done" and ignoring the whole shennanigan.

You think there is better system than this democracy?

Oh come on, you're not that naive =) anything regarding political news is a campaign, and that one is for sure. Many people suddenly admitting they were wrong and foolish, all at once, moving the "overtone window" (not sure if that's correct in English) towards a very clear purpose? Yeah that's totally plausible. Because people are tend to suddenly become smart en mass.Ysh wrote:I am not sure if this is counts as a campaign. More just people being people on internet.

*scoffs* kinda answers your question, doesn't it? In my opinion - pretty much anything, really, that doesn't include ritual human sacrifices into official ideology is better.

I very easily believe people do not think through consequence of action and become prone for regret. I try with not attribute to malice what is attribute for ignorance. But it can certainly possible to be coordinated as you suggest, but I think this is not clearly true.Hasta wrote:Oh come on, you're not that naive =) anything regarding political news is a campaign, and that one is for sure. I assume you do hyperbole with this one. I think this is not the worst systems except some theocracy as you suggesting. Or you do think democracy is worse than anarchy/totalitarianism?Hasta wrote:*scoffs* kinda answers your question, doesn't it? That must be a crappy game system if they allow a player to own so much land without any sort of demesne penalty or something.DDDsDD999 wrote:
I'm actually happy because this might trigger Ireland to be one again and Scotland to leave the UK and join the Scandinavians in the mid-term. I feel sorry for the non-UKIP Brits though. At least you still have your nuclear weapons.

Anarchy in it's initial meaning is quite a nice system, if you not know that yet check it out, it's interesting. Again, in public opinion it usually equaled to "chaos", which is wrong. However, I do not think that anarchy or totalitarism are better than democracy. I don't think they're worse, neither. I think most systems are flawed, even those that are good in theory - they are badly realized on practice. So, it actually boils down to a choice - what can you afford to lose for what benefits. For me looks tempting a monarchy or educated dictatorship (not like the ones in middle east or africa with golden AKs, beards and palaces). But I guess that's not gonna happen in my lifespan, 'cause "democracy" became a purpose of itself: people believe that democracy is good not because it has something good to offer (not saying it hasn't), not because they actually compare and make a choice, but because public opinion is fashioned like "it's democracy - it's good, anything else - bad, no freedom".
