Yeah I can see the motivation and why this seems like a good idea to some, but I don't think it is a good idea, I think it would just lead to even weaker defense and painful grinding to kill things.

Just about anything that PREVENTS murder is going to be a bad idea... Maybe some other sort of cost like a "guilt" debuf or if not guilt then some other psychological effect that makes the murderers game slightly less enjoyable for a day or two...

Well killing someone on your claim, or your village claim could also be free of cost, this can give defenders advantages over raiders (plus not leaving scents on your claim suggestion).

Implementation can be described more specific but since no one seems to like the idea in general i guess i just going to drop it.

That's one I've seen thrown around a few times, and while I originally didn't like it, I'm becoming more and more a fan of it... After all, a man has a right to defend his home doesn't he? Is he not the king of his own castle? Lord of his own domain?

Maybe not allow it for village authority, but for personal claims it doesn't seem at all unreasonable... Especially if Loftar gets around to making it hard for people to have massive claims.

I was thinking of suggesting something like not needing black skills on your own claim, but additional rules ( like no claiming where another character stands (or lies), and still requiring black skills for hurting summoned characters) would need to be added to prevent alt abuse.

I guess one way to shift some balance toward non pvp players would be to treat combat and non-combat skills differently in inheritance . . .

Edit:

Why not villages? WHy should villages be excluded from having reasonable means of defense?

Cause villages are bigger, have more people on them and there's a reasonable chance that people can accidentally wander onto village turf without realizing it.

I'm not flat out AGAINST allowing village members to murder non members within a village, however I'm more cautious about that idea than I am with claims because claims are smaller and more personal

Also peaceful farmers who defend claim in party also get an advantage here, as i wrote earlier couple of first kills can be free, and cost decrease over time. So if you not killing that much it would be as it is now for you. The main problem here that a village "warrior" who supposed to defend a lot of people going to be disadvantaged.

And maybe village chieftan could assign some players to have this murder privileges on the village claim, like two maximum on the village, five in some bigger formation, when and if it's implemented :-) Making them warriors officially.

Sound's reasonable, but mostly if someone didn't have lp to purchase black skill's and get's attack by griefer he probably get's owned anyway. That of course leaves peaceful one's that would find it unnecessary to buy them, even when they got enough lp, and newbie who get's advantage on another newbie while on his own claim, so i like that idea.

In rl one should be careful to, especially when guy talks about candies in his truck.

You probably haven't seen my 2 million lp claim that was larger than any village I have seen. You could have accidentally wondered into that too so that is a fail reason. If you like your defenseless villages maybe you should get an option as a lawspeaker (that shouts I HAS NO TRUST IN MY OWN VILLAGE MEMBERS BUT I DO IN RANDOM PEOPLE WANDERING IN) to disallow the use of black skills against invaders.
