Also world wonders would make the game even more similar to Civilization. As far as I'm concerned that's not a bad thing at all.

Would there be giant enterable churches/palaces ?

Cool in theory, but not really worth the developers time IMO. Either they make one or two uniques, and 99% of the player base doesn't even know they exist, or they make dozens of them, and waste weeks of what could be development time for more important features. Semi-uniques don't have this problem, though.

Unique "world wonders" would indeed be a nice addition. Alongside unique world features, this'd create a new incentive for travel (and maybe even tourism as an industry). Maybe you'd get a boost in spiritus/wyrd whaeva when you visit an unique world feature?

Dude, this is really food for thought about end game content that should come in until after religion.and yeah, the idea is more like a hundred or so semi's and a couple dozen uniques. I totally agre the base of the game still needs to be focused on and a shitton of work done on it...I'm not trying to distract from that.
