I don't mind HTTPS (and in fact the website has always supported it), I just mind the certificate protection racket. PGP has it right.

But you must accept that majority of the users probably dont care about your ideology and are just going to use unsafe HTTP because their browsers complain about your certificate.

OR they could trust loftar and install his self-signed cert. That's safe as long as you trust the issuer.

Beyond this, the amount of stupidity in the last half of this thread is beyond ridiculous.
