Its because its Oyster Mushroom, it pretty much grows on every second tree in batches of 2-4. You can collect full inventory of them (5x5x4 = 100) in maybe 20 minutes.

In the past you just wouldnt be able to use mushrooms at all. In fact probably laughed and ignored if you suggested it.

Nurgling is fairly straight forward, you specify a route, you specify what it picks, where it goes using an area command. Run it on an alt. Feed the alt fish. Its not something you need to watch all the time, it'll hearth from animals etc. It wont be something you need to keep a computer running all day for. Just make an alt and run it alongside your usual gameplay. It'll log in every 20minutes and gather whats along the route again.

Then buy this man's pickaxe with mushrooms. Honestly a great deal.

Once you have the discovery for either any nugget or any bar, you can discover any specific type of metal (both bars and nuggets) by smelting the bar into nuggest and vice versa.

East of Brodgar Shop has discoveries for metal bars on its noticeboard, though obviously having it in more places would be even better.
