it still helps for defending your own fort though, i dont think you should call it "just decoration".
youll never know if a band of archers are all alts, or even if most of them were, one out of a dozen might actually be a decent ranger with decent stats, so you would most likely try to move around once in a while than to sit still ramming/palibashing to siege.
even though i can see your point, i dont really think you should conclude everything with "endgame" stuff in general.

Re: W7 combat
I didn't mean to put all in one basket with endgaming, just marely pointing an example of someone working hard for his gear >>> someone working hard for his bow.
And yes, there is the "scare effect" present if you come with 3-4 chars with rbows even if no one knows whats their stats and rbow q, but when someone with good chars, good stats, good gear comes up to your wall, they can fear nothing and just have 3-4 min of ramming while they wouldn't get hurt. They can just replace their armors after 50 shots at home after the raid.
Good example was world5, when we (Pandem) were at Taar walls (bell/Hally/mistic) and we were 30 and he was alone (then 2 more came). I think about 10 of us had rbows and same stats as him. Within 100+ arrows shot thorugh him, probably only few of us made a dent in his armor, so 1 hour of rbow shooting took 0 damage in his health, and that is why i call it decoration. It simply should have some penetration, so if a good char with good stats with good weapon lands a hit on an opponent he should do some damage.

i don't know what r u talking about, but for me, RB is just decoration. Sad to see that it's IMPOSSIBLE to damage enemy. My main idea - "Top RB with top stat ranger, must damage person with TOP armor and high-end stats" Archery died few world ago...

Re: W7 combat
Its easier to get 1000+ perc than getting 1000+str/agi/con which is all that matters.
Aswell as its easier to get 300-500 mms than to get 1000+ua or mc.
If rbows would get buffed with a armor pen it would be unbalanced.
And there would be so much exploits with it.
Im just sayin, in the time you would build a fighter u would have made 5-10 mms alts which could then be made fulltrad and u could just switch char when u die, study on the dead one for 5 days and be back to your old stats.
Whilst they could kill a titan and the owner would be fucked for weeks or months.
The only reason for buffing rbow would be to use all the exploits that come with it, there is nothing else it can be used for.
I would get a bunch of mms alts, autoshoot bot, standing at w.e spot i want inside a brickwall while carrying a boat so you couldnt see it was aiming at you, then just go collect gear.
But please buff it it sounds fukn awesome.

Mad boy.
Why would we need rbows now? They are useless, so why not buff them at least a bit?
Maybe you're right with the shit you said, maybe not.
We could also rebalance the whole MM system, but not change it would be dumb, as its would stay useless.

From glancing over the last two pages. Noobs who have never fired a end game quality R-bow want them nerfed even more so noobs who are stupid and afk outside can live without fear. Meanwhile, People with 1500AC can afk outside without fear anyways when there's less than 10 archers at his gates. Which is the purpose for this whole nerf discussion?

Re: W7 combat
How about penetration depending on per vs agi? Something like equal per and agi being the start of penetration, and ending at 2:1 per:agi for like 10% penetration?

Re: W7 combat
I think ranged combat needs a rework before the numbers are tweaked. Right now its as simple as click and aim. W6 end Rbows Q was so high you could nearly aim when people moved. That wasn't to balanced either.
Like in melee combat ranged pvp needs a bit more then just click and shoot. Unless we get a bit more variety in ranged pvp we just have to rely on rangers to do little to no damage. Armor pen would be nice and all but even the smallest amounts of penetration can be exploited with numbers (number of attackers).
Maybe as in similar to Fallout there could be different types of aiming you could do on different parts of the body giving different aiming speeds with different percentages of successful hits. Repetitive hits into that specific armor could break it and reduce the armor AC faster then trying to damage the total armor. That's just one idea out of hundreds but just a proof of concept to show that we need a new system instead of number tweaking.

Re: W7 combat
Only very low stat chars would suffer from this, the rest will just move and mark you location on the map for later return. Besides, you can bot MMs and 'collect gear' from noobs with the current system to same effect. Buffing up rbows wouldn't change much in this aspect, but what it might do is add more dynamics to the combat system. Ranged weapons make everything much more fun.Jojjkano wrote:Its easier to get 1000+ perc than getting 1000+str/agi/con which is all that matters.

Also it's would be dam useful for fending off palibashers.
That's alone worth the hypothetical increase in injures by the evil bot hordes.
