I like the changes and I play only hermit. Also you can choose the siege window yourself. Just pick a day where you have time or take the risk. I for one like more danger and more risk

Re: Prelude: World 12
I mean risk is great and all but I don’t want to play a game that requires me to be actively playing for 7 hours straight in one sitting in the best scenario every two weeks. I work 50 hours a week and get call duty on weekends once a month. Realistically the only people that can do this are no lifers, botters, and the only one I’m ok with are groups who plan for it. But if I’m playing by my self I can’t protect my claim without using bots.Gutharr wrote:I like the changes and I play only hermit. Also you can choose the siege window yourself. So you take the risk. In this world I sometimes didn't lock in like when I was on a vacation or something. In that time my base could have been raided too

Re: Prelude: World 12
It’s crazy to punish someone who can play daily for 2 hours a day but is unable to play 8 hours straight. If the risk was like losing a quality point or something reasonable I’d be fine but the risk is that you lose everything you’ve worked on for the entire world except your character. This risk is every two weeks no matter how well you plan.Gutharr wrote:Mario_Demorez wrote:I mean risk is great and all but I don’t want to play a game that requires me to be actively playing for 7 hours straight in one sitting in the best scenario every two weeks. I do not understand why dev want to screw 95% of playerbase with that new siege...
sell the game or release the game lisence to public so that community could go their own way if they do t care what majority wants.

I'm quite surprised there isn't more protest of the removal of spiraling.
I haven't played much w11 but quality grind has always been the core mechanic of HnH , what keep people motivated / interested , what drives the economy.
Why is no one losing their mind over this ?
Is there a new mechanic introduced I am missing ?

Shorten the time of the window of 8 hours to 4 hours and I think that would be better. 8 hours not being able to leave your house as a working adult with a life outside of one game is in my opinion asking too much.

Re: Prelude: World 12
Speaking of siege chess, have you guys considered the time it takes for archery towers and general siege equipment to dry? As it stands it takes an hour for an archery tower to fire, two hours for a catapult to fire and it only takes a ram 20 minutes to dry for palisades (and an hour for brick walls). This fundamentally just means that the ram wins every time based on time if there is no changes at all. Not unless of course you think we should build towers and catapults far in advance along every section of wall. In which case tedium might wanna have a talk.jorb wrote:I think you overestimate the simplicity of it by at least some amount. The defender controls the timing, and has time to build archery towers to counter rams. The defender has perfect information on when things could happen. It is not trivial to break in.PastTime wrote:Why even have cosmetics and visual fancy things if raids will be so easy to do?

Because metal spiral is terrible mechanic that just makes factions poop out cheap tools for tokens, heavily fueling rmt because anyone who practices good hygiene can't obtain them, all based on whose anvil has more sweat and bots inside it.waga wrote:I'm quite surprised there isn't more protest of the removal of spiraling.

Re: Prelude: World 12
At the end of the day, it seems like you guys are just ignoring the main demographic of the game.
The people who are still playing up until the world's end are not at all interested in PvP and Sieging. They tend to be casual players.
There is absolutely no reasonable cost that can be added to siege inspecting that can not be massed.
And even then, assuming you find some sort of high-bar for village inspecting, then it becomes near impossible to spot when a village is siegable.
Assuming that is true, then why even bother with the new siege mechanics in the first place. It makes the changes you proposed just pointless.
While I'm sure you two will go ahead and change things, my biggest fear is that we will not know about these changes until we are reading about them on the new world thread.
I'd rather see new industrial mechanics this time around. But once again it seems you guys are still focused on Pvp/Sieging. A mechanic designed to Grief and make people quit.
After all, that is all that raiding amounts to since it has no inherent objective at the end of the day.
There are no strategic objectives.
There are no resource objectives.
There are no economic objective.
There is no meaning to sieging, besides the fact that you hate a particular group and want to see them gone from the game. Well, unless you count the few curiosities that might be obtained.
