Not that bad of a viewpoint if you ask me.
At least better than being disillusioned and bitter by having experienced to much from bad people...
just in case, that word in my language isnt considered a bad trait, which is why i quoted it and i only expected him to get it. but looks like loftar didnt get that either  he’d better study more.

Should it be allowed to collect Dragonflies in a swamp using the horse's magical swampwalking abilities?

Should it be allowed to one-shot animals using the bow at 1 MM (before the fix)?

Should it be allowed to abuse the horse's hitbox to fight animals above your level?

Should it be allowed to trespass into a claimed cave without Trespassing using a horse?

There's varying degrees of bug abuse (from design mistake to blatant abusable bug) and varying degrees of harm caused (from minor advantage for user to complete annihilation of other player). At what point does it constitute 'abuse' and should abusers be punished for it?
Can we still safely abuse obvious design mistakes and minor bugs? Is anything that affects other players off-limits?
That is actually a complicated issue. Be sure to at least report any bug you come across would be my advice and do not employ any that actively hurt other players. Then again almost any action undertaken in this game has some kind of influence on other people...so where to draw the exact line? I dunno.

I am pretty sure Jorb is not going to nuke anyone over minor things though like bugging out animals in fights.
This might not be the place to talk about it but since the subject is on the table. What about people raiding while riding horses? In those case, you can either try to PvP the guy on the horse but you're at clear disadvantage since he can hit and run as he wish or you can PvP the horse but then you're 2v1, still at disadvantage.

I think I saw somewhere Jorb or Loftar saying that the horses are "broken" in their mechanics but for the time being people die to coward raider (Bob Dole) that abuse the mechanics. And since this is an abuse that affect other players, I think it fall under that line, right? Again I'm just laying the problem on the table, feel free to shut me down if it's not the right place to talk about it.

Oh, I know. That's the Ring of Brodgar. But they were not really memorials of in-game events like the destruction of a bugger's settlement, they were more like structures without real background (like, they fit the lore but their story is not one built by players) :)

Well, ok.

That only proves my point that they're not relevant enough.

16 pages in I realized that I was reading the same conversation over and over, the decision has been made folks, arguing if it was sound at this point is irrelevant they made a sound decision and both parties are taken care of in their ways. Dont abuse bugs and you won't have a crater base and your chars deleted.

I'm sure the devs are interested in feedback regarding this decision, or they would have just locked it like the original thread.

Of course.

I might add that we are in no way enthusiastic about actions like these. We do not want to interfere with the game world at all if it can be avoided.

Seems on some Russian forums people believe you only did it because DDD once was in town with people like me and Avu and since we are the devs best friends we could just ask for a nuke :D

Good job Jorbtar, perfect handling of the situation and so quick. I'm so happy the people who think abusing a bug is a reasonable idea get what's coming to them. They have no morals.

Nothing I'm happy about, in that case. I'm not sure I can do much to dispel that impression. I can only assert that I do not particularly keep tabs of who is friend with who, and nor do I really care.
