You get more FEP events if you add other food.

I don't think he's saying that. He's saying that first of all, there is no use for 400 dex.Shask wrote:It was an example. And a character with those stats isn't a specialist..sabinati wrote:first of all you won't need 400 dex, ever. second of all, make a capable character with 100-200 stats before you push anything to retard levels
Secondly, having 100-200 in all base stats is very useful, you should be a very balanced person until then meaning that you are all around useful, after that point you can start specializing and getting your 5,000+ str or 5,000 + per, or whatever the hell you want.

That may have been true before tables and at lowish stat values but fep variance bonus is pretty damn sucky at higher stat levels. Sorry to inform you but we're back to one food only for each category maybe with the exception of dex but not psy.Potjeh wrote: Plus, single food diet is horribly inefficient. You'd get more total psy if you mixed those bulbs with RoBs (both fish and dough).

It's not my fault you suck at diet planning. Eating a slice each of MBC, BBC and Cellar Cheddar is much better use of your milk than eating two slices of MBC. And I shudder to think how much food you waste when you raise Con.
For the record, yes, I have a table with gold plate, silver cutlery, silk tablecloth and all that jazz. I'm getting more use out of FEP reduction than I ever did. And I don't really use pepper on food much, I think it's better used on Bierwurst since it's got FEPs worthy of a tier 2 cheese and takes just two drupes.
But really, if you can't see how FEP reduction shines when it comes to Con, you're beyond all hope. I could easily get twice as much Con from the same amount of food if all you're using is apple pie or something, and I'm using a wide mix of foods.

i think the difference between your attitude (which i share) and avu's is that avu apparently abhors the thought of random chance in his FEP events

I think it also has to do with time management and convenience. I for one can't be bothered to produce and gather all kinds of food, when there is a superior type of it. The only FEP reducer I use are low q carrots/pumpkin slices and the like.
I mean even with base stats of more than 500 3 piroz are sufficient to raise con. I really don't see how this isn't the best way to do it?? I doubt I could tweak it so I only need one pumpkin pie and one piroz. Might give it a try though.
Also lol @ pepper for bierwurst.

Piro, pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie is easier to make than 3 piros, in my experience, since pumpkins are a dime a dozen and trading for chants is a hassle. But I'd rather eat piro, pie, bread, fish stick and cow chorizo and not waste pepper on con food.

Not when you literally have dozens of cupboards of it.
Edit: Again lol @pepper on piroz

Re: Reduce Number-crunching in Attribute Levelling
Having food clogging up storage seems wasteful to me. I never have more than two cupboards of food at a time, I just handplough and feast if it gets to that point.
*edit* Have you actually tried bierwurst? It's got 20 FEPs at q10, and since it uses beer and pepper you can get it at really high q. It's my main source of str and con these days. It's the 9th food by the number of FEPs, got more FEPs than BBC for example.

First of all this is the whole Sodom supply I am talking about. When different people are trading for chants stuff like this happens. Also I never have been a fan of handplowing. Not because it feels kinda exploitive, I just hate to do it.
