if you see a person you know with thier name over thier head it will be a different color if you set it as such. as Sabinati(the moderator not the troll) said, ignore global chat, its useless unless you want to get trolled(as you're doing now), or need a quick answer to a question instead of posting on forum(though forum is usually better) or are too lazy to check wiki. there is no way someone on global can use your name to access your friend's place, as your friend has you kinned and anyone walking up to them(same name or not) shows up as unknown.

edit: Ok, OP, I was a bit shocked to find out myself that names weren't globally unique. However, given the nature of the game (can't delete characters, can't reuse a name on the same account), it's a bit of a necessity. Just cause you became the target of a troll on global chat doesn't change that. What, exactly, were you doing on global chat to become a target, anyway? Trying to be too helpful?
