You can only research so many curios at a time, and a lot of people do this while offline not online.

The devs mentioned this was a problem with the current system and why I made this suggestion after reading about it.

If you are feeding curios to a lot of alts you are minimizing the losses if you die because you can swap to a high level alt, and to me that ruins the risk/reward aspects of the game. It also encourages more botting and asshat behavior.

if you want more risk for yourself just grab a boat and cruise all rivers - the reward will be yours : a runestone in char creation room...

and running alts doesn't mean you have to bot or be an asshat... i run alts (tell me how you want to be a farmer with being full nature and a miner having full industry with one char only ...) and i am sure anyone who ever met me ingame won't consider me being an asshat (surely not the ones i gave places i made with alts)...just because of others having their playstyle it doesn't mean i have do same...

No where did I say it makes you an asshat, I said it encourages asshat behavior.

Opinions aren't black and white, I dislike one tiny element of a game that doesn't mean I dislike the entire thing or want a different gaming experience. I know you know this, but everyone seems to abandon common sense on forums, and reading comprehension.

This is the dev post I read that gave me the idea in the first place: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=26231&start=40#p329183

Read Jorb's thoughts there...

On a sidenote, I don't believe the developers wanted everyone to make an alt to mine and farm. They wanted a single player to take the % hit from the belief sliders if they chose to do both, but the optimal solution is finding others and working together.

Players have side stepped most intended gameplay and created things such as key alts, lp-banks, and vaults to avoid the game penalities, yet at the same time don't want those penalties removed or changed...pretty dumb imo.

Game mechanics allow such things as LP banks, key alts and vaults.
If these things weren't meant to be so then the devs wouldn't've made them. If you die full change, you lose 94% of lp. You have a head start on your next char if you've banked lp, if you've chosen not to do that tough. IMO if anything there should be a system to bank lp other than making massive claims.

I guess all bugs/exploits/clever-use-of-game-mechanics are in the game and are as such all justifiable. That's extremely bullshit reasoning.

klein klein as we say in german - showing asshat behaviour makes you an asshat...

you are the one who is not aware of the fact that is not just a "tiny" element.

i think i know what you are trying to say and also where your thoughts coming from. But i think you don't have enough practical playing experience yet and get to too much conclusions by reading in the forums. (?!?)

...how much common sense is on forums you'll see in the next posts...and yes "Mr. Oberschlau" ;) - my reading comprehension is surely a bit flawed: english is not every forum users mothertongue - so the one who calls is responsible ;)

They try to make it better with Salem and hopefully do someday with HnH too - work in progress

Big factions play "optimal solution" - where does it lead to?!? And don't you think i tried to discover all different options and stay finally with one that fits my recreational needs best?!?

Reading comprehension: am i missing the word "some" in front of the sentence?!?

I love how you look through the devs intentions - I guess even most of the Vets don't... especially those that where (are) in IP and went inactive :P

Player A (Person who logs on only to make curios study and leave)

Player B (Person who plays normally and studies curios whenever he can)

Player A Will most likely get lower Q curios, because he isn't foraging, farming, and crafting as much as Player B.

Therefore, the more you are online, the bigger your reward will be for curios, high Q stuff, and you can buff your INT to study more.

not good system just make electricity usuless consomation. let your computer run to decrease time like for bielef. just usuless; lp gain is nothing without attribute upgrad.

I think this would encourage bot's to be honest. It would be annoying to constantly switch/use curios and it would be easy to bot. You'd just leave the curio and food or do simple repetitive action to decrease the bar. And log when the cupboard/inventory is empty.

You'd leave a program on. It would use, wait, use, wait then repeat. With longer curio times(as they are) this isn't as much of a problem because a normal person(non-bot) can keep up with others in a sense.... expect with things like pearls and cow cones. Pearls are rare enough(for medium level players and even higher levels).... dam cow cones.

Focus on how long you are on would only increase effectiveness of bots, not hinder them.
