yeah but I do not think it has also some magic power to send datas on its own to my monitor .... at least from what I knowshubla wrote:Desktop pcs can have, and often have, integrated cards in CPU's still...sMartins wrote:Yeah my game was always capped at 60 FPS ... the pc is a desktop, so the integrated card doesn't matter ... It can send data through a wire, no magic powers needed.sMartins wrote: yeah but I do not think it has also some magic power to send datas on its own to my monitor .... at least from what I know, does it?

which wire? Through the motherboard, to my gtx970 and then to my monitor ... whithout using the gtx 970?

Re: Very low perfomances and audio issues
It is not completely unusual that one would plug the screen to the motherboard instead of the dedicated GPU, it might also be possible to route the integrated thing out through the GPU, though I am not sure on that one.sMartins wrote:which wire? I do not think that's possible ... they are not designed for that ... probably there is some tech that allow that but not standard shit.

Re: Very low perfomances and audio issues
Are both DX12 devices*? If so, then yes. If you haven't disabled the device in BIOS, Windows system or otherwise prevented the device from working, then yes, no matter what port your monitor is plugged into. You mentioned Nvidia, and while the OpenGL issue is primarily with laptops, it doesn't mean it can't show up on desktops. Interconnected devices share data with each other as long as something tells them to share it. It doesn't matte what port something is plugged into. The computer knows and can direct output from anywhere in the computer to the appropriate port.sMartins wrote:yeah but I do not think it has also some magic power to send datas on its own to my monitor .... at least from what I knowshubla wrote:Desktop pcs can have, and often have, integrated cards in CPU's still...sMartins wrote:Yeah my game was always capped at 60 FPS ... the pc is a desktop, so the integrated card doesn't matter ... *This is a good thing as it can boost your graphics performance, but if it's bottlenecking your RAM, then disable it.

Re: Very low perfomances and audio issues
no clue of what you are talking about ..... I'll do some research, I was always curious about this thing ....
but tbh I still don't beleive that my integrated gpu can work with the monitor plugged in the gtx 970 ... how would I replicate that? the integrated one doesn't even show up in the options,etc... if not plugged in. How can I be sure that I'm using the integrated one while connected to gtx 970?

Re: Very low perfomances and audio issues
There are a few other things that you can check for to see if they look right; foremost among these would be the GPU's PCIe bandwidth utilization. Normally in Haven, this should be a very low number (a few percent at most); if it's much higher than that or pegged at 100%, that is an indication that something is weird. Another thing would be the GPU clock speed; while playing, this should normally be on the highest available setting (it clocks down when idle, but driver bugs or other weird things can cause it to clock down erroneously when it shouldn't).
Again though, I'm not sure how to check for these things in Windows, so I can't guide you on that.

Re: Very low perfomances and audio issues
Both Nvidia's and AMD's driver suites have utilities built in that let you monitor GPU and CPU usage. Windows Task Manager will let you monitor CPU usage by default, and you can add in GPU usage stats by right clicking any column title and selecting the appropriate category to add.
You can also look under System settings in Windows to see what devices are active, which are disabled, have driver issues, or other information. You can also manually manage devices there. It's a useful tool to learn. You might try disabling the integrated device here to see if it resolves the problem. If it doesn't or causes other issues, you can turn it back on again fairly simply. As long as it isn't your main graphics output device, you shouldn't cause issues with Windows running. Be sure to reboot your system after either operation here to make sure the change takes effect.
