tbh if you die because your ping is only 10ms higher, then you're doing something wrong.

Could you not bump that time line up a bit the lag is and has been extremely brutal and I'm happy the game is still this popular after the early rush but omg this sucks.loftar wrote:I'm not exactly sure when I do the actual transfer, or how it interacts with the weekly patch, but judging from the previous move of Moltke (see the link above), I expect it to take at least 5-6 hours to complete, during which the game will have to be down, and during at least part of which the forums also have to stay down. I expect to do it on Wednesday at the latest, but I'll keep you updated.

Wait!
So you're about to update the current server and then do it AGAIN on Wednesday?
Why not just wait and do it all in the one go?

Probably to give a few days to make sure nothing broke from the OS upgrade before doing a hardware migration. This is the downside of being the only engineer on a dev team and not having a lot of hardware resources to do all the internal testing on before an official update.jock wrote:Why not just wait and do it all in the one go?
Worth noting that most major developers do upgrades and migrations in this way, too. They do it in steps and it's usually seemless for the users, maybe a longer downtime one day or week or whatever their typical update/maintenance schedule is.
