Re: Kingdom of Dis
Just build properly claimed palisade and no sane person will bother to raid you.

So basically good people = shit players and shit people = good players. Not saying that statement is inaccurate but is a game that follows that sort of philosophy really going to attract many players at all?Patchouli_Knowledge wrote:If the kingdom is malicious, you are less likely to be targeted especially if the effort to reward ratio is low. If the kingdom is beneficial, while they grant kingdom bonus and perhaps some positive, they cannot prevent attack from raiders and can only avenge you if willing to.

It doesn't matter how big defenses I will built up, if I have to leave from time to time to restock on things. Also, as I mentioned, recently-appearing horse-raiders with visible weapons are a bit scary.

I should clarifyKaios wrote: So basically good people = shit players and shit people = good players. Not saying that statement is inaccurate but is a game that follows that sort of philosophy really going to attract many players at all?
You have a defense so that it is not worth the time to break in if you are a small settlement.Patchouli_Knowledge wrote:If the kingdom is malicious, you are less likely to be targeted especially if the effort to reward ratio is low.
A kingdom is not a replacement for an actual defense. You can still get raided inside the kingdom and the only things that your ruler can do is avenge you.Patchouli_Knowledge wrote:If the kingdom is beneficial, while they grant kingdom bonus and perhaps some positive, they cannot prevent attack from raiders and can only avenge you if willing to.

For you is nothing changed.Aceb wrote:It doesn't matter how big defenses I will built up, if I have to leave from time to time to restock on things. Also, as I mentioned, recently-appearing horse-raiders with visible weapons are a bit scary.
Rival factions dont raid noobs, right Dafels? Will AD raid noobs village, who was claimed by realm of Dis?
Kaios, you hate us so much, you dont pass any post about Dis and LadyGoo personally, will you raid this guy? What the stance of your Ivory Kingdom?
Onep, what about Wizzads? (also ask Brazilians, what they think about it)
About defenses. It matters.
For small village optimal is two shields design:
Pclaim shield on inner wall (it should cover inner wall completely).
Village claim shield on outer wall (should cover completely).
Walls could be palisade or brickwall, palisade works good enough right now, brickwalls more stylish and more guarantees with future game changes.
Distance between inner and outer wall is 40+ tiles, so noone will see what you do inside, noone can check your activity (full or empty animal troughs, recently replanted plants, online heartfires)
You can use this space for low cost things, like flax and beetroot fields, trees (but it will show your activity).
Also inner pclaim shouldnt get closer than 25 tiles to outer wall, to prevent hitting both shields with one shoot from outside.
Village claim should extends for 30 tiles, to prevent building palisade with catapults close enough to you walls to shoot them.
Houses outside walls not allowed for the same reason.
Minehole should be walled, with gates open only to minehole.
All gates in all walls should be opened from inside only, with slave keys.
Master keys should be on key alt, on dedicated account and always offline.
Same with village lawspeaker - alt account, always offline.
Doors at least in outer walls should be always closed.
Charter stone alt spawn should be disabled.
Check your village and pclaim authority.
You should have ready to use wrecking ball at your village idol, to destroy idol when its shield will be broken, to activate pclaim's shield on inner wall.
Id also defend idol with wrecking ball with small palisade around it, with keys only on key alt.

There are nothing perfect in this universe, but this is 99.99% reliable defense, it needs 48+ hours siege without rest to break in, which makes it virtually impossible.
About personal defense.
I always have at least 4 characters - crafter, farmer, miner and forager/hunter(which becomes fighter later, than I make another forager). So I never loose key characters - crafter and farmer, they never go outside.
Miner, forager and fighter could be lost, but its more or less easy to replace, and they never dies all at once.
Btw, Dis guys dont use swords.

Re: Kingdom of Dis
welp most of advices from here for a small hermit I have. (With exception to alt with keys, If they break in, it will not matter that much and I'm using only slave keys).
Recently people around started to be more suspicious so trading is much harder and well... I heard rumors that suddenly beacon realm started to disappear and DIS is getting bigger and bigger everyday hereeee
