If you are cought brute forcing, your screwed for 30 years. If the developers would go that far. What would happen if they did? Are you saying to let shit happen the way it does? Devs should stay out of a hack situation because people will throw a tantrum over some illegal bullshit?Koru wrote:I see my post was misunderstood. If ppl can crash the server when their chars are in dangerous, imagine what they will do if their shiny town will dissapear.
Mechanism abuses should have nothing to do with behavior in game, cus they aren't designed to become part of the gameplay. Of course it is only a theory, everybody uses bigger or smaller abuses and nobody cares until you are a victim or you quit the game.

What happens if someone goes to war and wins fairly against them? They through and tantrum and crash the server because if they can't have the cake nobody can? That's precisely why people who meta abuse should be punished. Or you suppose we should allow them to hold the world hostage eh?Koru wrote:I see my post was misunderstood. Re: Everybody hurts...from their butt
Of course there should be punishment for such things, I totally agree with that. I disagree with the way how it works now. Abuses are part of the game since I remember and this situation seems to be tolerated by devs which is confusing, cus they decide how bad the abuse is and is it enough, for example, to nuke or not. That makes ppl think some groups of players are under protection of devs, have no information what convince devs to act.
All I want to say is that without rules there is no way to talk about punishment. Every punishment will be treat as unfair decision, especially when abuses were bigger and bigger and we haven't seen any reactions. This might look for someone like "they did something to me and I was punished for doing the same".
I am not against punishing for bug abusing, I am against uncleared rules. You shouldn't ask why your char was wiped out, you should know why.

But there are/were no fair factions, all of them are/were build with help of abuses. If you accept abusing you cannot graduate level of it, cus it is your morality and subjective opinion that stops you somewhere, someone pushes line further and you gonna argue your line is better? There should be one line made for everyone and then we can talk about punishment.Avu wrote:What happens if someone goes to war and wins fairly against them? Potjeh pretty much explained why unclear rules can be an advantage. Makes people live in constant fear of doing anything wrong and that is better for the game's environment.I am against uncleared rules

I don't see that as an advantage, unless there are reactions that take place on a regular basis. Why is there such flagrant abuses? Because there are no consequences for said abuses. Players/people want to know where the line is so they can sit Right on it. I disagree with this sort of behavior, but alas tis human nature.burgingham wrote:Potjeh pretty much explained why unclear rules can be an advantage. So it boils down to there's no rules boooo we wan't rules but make sure there's no retroactive punishment because then we boooo again but even if rules are put in place (which there won't be because jorb and loftar are clueless hippies) then nobody will follow them because nobody was ever punished before so they have no teeth. Somewhat of a catch 22.

See and this is an excellent example why it works. In Kafkas trial they are all afraid and that is what I meant would be achieved. You better not step over any line then no matter which, because it might have been the last line you stepped over.Koru wrote:And I disagree with his opinion. Re: Everybody hurts...from their butt
I have a simple cure for this bullshit. Every time someone crashes the server or uses these fucked up bugs and shit, turn the server off for a week. If you can't play nicely with the toys you are given, the toys should be taken away.

Are we all to be punished due to the action of one? I would think that the server will never be up in that instance.
