An offtopic-ish advise: make a raft, put it in a boat, get on a horse, pick up boat, go questing. You'll spend ~30-60 seconds crossing rivers (drop boat, unload raft, "Avast!", load horse on raft, pick up boat, cross river, drop boat, unload horse from raft, "Giddy up!", disassemble raft, load it into boat, pick up boat); but, since questing mostly requires you travelling by land, you will spend much less time questing overall because you'll be mounted all the time. Nothing to do with location, just common sense. Though there are some "not so obvious crafting recipes" like boiled deer antlers or bone ash, seeds don't participate in any of them AFAIK.
