Actually you're wrong here. Their village claim was too close to build a wall of statues or banners. Poor game mechanics indeed. I'd also like to add that the ram was exactly 25 tiles away from the wall. We had put some defenses in place that hopefully would cause them to screw up while moving it (stomp to dirt, spam of hf, erratically placed crossroads that snag the ram and require turning to destroy) but of course that was all removed when Loftar came around and unfortunately I did not remember to get a screenshot of it. It was quite the clusterfuck.
