Re: Rl’yeh is sinking, hasn’t reached the bottom yet
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Well seeing how the point of the current siege mechanic is to basically make raiding any semi active hermit impossible (which imo isn't a good thing), I assume that any thing that allows someone to raid without penetrating their walls is considered a bug.Kaios wrote:if that's what they did then maybe don't have a charter stone inside your village where anyone can access, maybe don't allow spawning on it, maybe close your gatesbmjclark wrote:The only thing i can think of is they walked into the village, right clicked the charterstone to get a name from it (you can interact with charterstones with visitor debuff) and reincarnated a character with enough LP for vandal at it since they had the name. They then walked the character outside to get all the discos and mats and built a minehole inside with that character since hearthing by passes visitor debuff. Only way i can think of short of something even more shady.
not a bug

Just another reason to never trust visitor debuff i suppose.

ok sure there's a bug here somewhere that obviously needs to be fixed related to mineholes and visitor but other than that this was easily preventable, no one needs to get nuked over itComodo wrote: Well seeing how the point of the current siege mechanic is to basically make raiding any semi active hermit impossible (which imo isn't a good thing), I assume that any thing that allows someone to raid without penetrating their walls is considered a bug.

The bigger point here is that teleporting to a charterstone (reportedly) gives you the Visitor Debuff; however teleporting there with a hearthfire does not.Kaios wrote:if that's what they did then maybe don't have a charter stone inside your village where anyone can access, maybe don't allow spawning on it, maybe close your gatesbmjclark wrote:The only thing i can think of is they walked into the village, right clicked the charterstone to get a name from it (you can interact with charterstones with visitor debuff) and reincarnated a character with enough LP for vandal at it since they had the name. There is no way this chain of events was acted out without knowledge that they were clearly going against a system the game intended- if teleporting to a charterstone gives you Visitor, and going there via hearthfire to a fire you could only have created by spawning at the charterstone doesn't, it's clearly a bug and not intended.
It's not a "direct" bug exploit like chairjumping, but you cannot possibly argue that it isn't malicious and going against the game and system's intentions (which for all points and purposes, is defined as a bug)
And as far as I care, the "nukeability" of a place isn't about how "preventable" it was, but rather the fact or not that the perpetrators used a bug, knowingly, and then decided to flaunt it- without bothering to ever report the issue in the first place.

Well there are two questions to ask.
Should we only be able to raid villages via the siege mechanic ?
What is the visitor debuff for, aka is it supposed to be bypassed by cheesing ?

The gates were open, even if the alt spawned with visitor debuff...He literally just has to walk out the gates to remove it then hearth in.Archiplex wrote:blah blah

That's my point. If the devs don't want you to be able to raid a place with charterstones, then the fact you can do it by hearthing back in AFTER using a charterstone is undeniably a loophole for the system trying to prevent you from doing just that.Astarisk wrote:The gates were open, even if the alt spawned with visitor debuff...He literally just has to walk out the gates to remove it then hearth in.Archiplex wrote:blah blah
