Maybe you missed our collection of important "How Do I?" threads: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=51565
There's just too many to keep them all stickied, so a collection is better.

zebratul wrote:The amount by which you FEP is affected by satiations is based on the following formula:
Since the satiations are getting multiplied, having even one of them at a very low level will stop you from gaining any FEPs from associated food (1*1*1*0.15 = 0,15. Your food will only be 15% effective).
The formula here seems off.
I am eating a q10 apple on an empty fep bar, at 200% food efficacy and getting .96 constitution FEP
For reference ALL of my satiations are currently as follows.
When I hover my mouse over the apple it highlights fruit and food, plugged into the formula it would look like
x = .5(2) * (.81*.98) the 2 representing the 200% food efficacy
that gives .79 FEP, not the .96 I am getting.
Is my math just wrong or am I missing something here?

Have a registered account or a verified one? You get more FEPs and LPs with these.

Re: A complete guide to eating and leveling stats up
most food is 3-6% hunger and you get about 12% of 300% hunger each day according to the wiki. with a full table (i see 20-30% tables for sale) so lets go with 25% hunger modifier and bonus fep is around 50%
i notice foods have 6-12 feps at 10q, lets say you eat foods average 8fep base with a quality of around 65 (2.5 multiplier)
average food takes 4.5% hunger so with best table (25%) that's 1.25% hunger. so in a day you can eat about 9-10 things on average for that sweet 300%
say 8fep base with a 65q gives 20feps, 20feps gives 60feps on ravenous(300%) before satiation and account bonuses. i believe variety bonus is done for every additional different food you eat
so with best stuffs, 10 * 60 * 1.5 = 900feps per day before satiation, account, pepper, and variety bonuses
according to the wiki, famished (200%) takes half as long per % so 24% per day for 200% instead of 300%. twice as much food can be eaten
so with 20feps per food on average; 40feps with famished, about 19-20 food stuffs a day, 20*40*1.5 = 1200feps per day before bonuses, eating more food allows for more variety bonus and stat ups but variety bonus is weaker than ravenous
then with the wiki; hungry (100%) is 3times as fast as famished at 72%. three times the food can be eaten
so with 20feps per food; 20feps per item while hungry, at about 55-60 food stuffs a day, 60*20*1.5 = 1800feps per day before bonuses, and more variety bonus and stat ups. but variety bonus is lower than famished and much weaker than ravenous
this is all theory and i'm sure i'm missing something. feel free to correct me and my approximating everything then basing most off of the wiki. this is all based off of best table and decent/good food
haven and hearth is suppose to benefit those that play a lot, how can the minimum effort be best? >>

ah true, although it still seems a bit off.
.5 (200%) (30% bonus from verified) (.81*.98)
.5(2.3) (.81*.98) = .91287 where as I was getting .96
Much closer though. and as a note, no table or chair involved

Verified bonus is 20%, not 30%.
Moreover, verified bonus is a multiplicative one, thus the formula should have looked:
food's base FEP * Food efficacy bonus * food satiations * verified bonus
0,5 * 2 * 0,81 * 0,98 * 1,2 = 0,95256
The number isn't 100% precise due to the fact satiations are displayed rounded while they are being used without being rounded. E.g. real satiation may be 81,4%, or 81,2% and 98,2% etc.

Re: A complete guide to eating and leveling stats up
Overall it's a great guide, a few small errors that don't really matter... But please change your food list, half of it should not even be considered in early game like chicken meat for example. I fed my tree cutting slaves with chicken meat but would never give this to a half important/decent char.

This is why I should not post at night, Thanks.
