Regarding city defense, I would like to see a couple of things.
1) Watch towers that ring out automatically when a non-village member comes into radius.
2) Some kind of uber strong bolt-hole you can hide in. Doesn't stop raiders looting all your stuff, but does save your life (hopefully).
