Weird... Last time I did it just wouldn't destroy my log cabin for me. :(

You would need it to be "tamed" so it doesn't just pathfind around it in an attacking state.

exactly how do you tame a bear? the 1 I saw tear through a log cabin was charging at my boat...

Beat it to near death until it is peaceful to you. Keep it engaged in combat. Get a deer or tree-person to heal the bear for you. The bear is now tamed and will act as your guardian.

Is there a way to get relatively close to your old home when you inherit as a hermit with no hearth secret friends to bring you back? I know some nearby villages (Artikmorneadsakflkgaslkgjsg, Pigshead, and some "cowboy village" to the North) but I have no idea how to get anywhere.

when you inherit and walk up the ladder you should spawn next to your dead chars HF
