Also wondering about resources....

The resources that can spawn in a cave, like bat guano, rock crystal, pipe organ etc.
Can those spawn on any level or are they typically found via tunneling your way through ? Reason I ask is I need the rock crystals so I can found a village and I have walked every twist and turn in every cave within 50 Map Tiles of my base and have yet to find a single resource. Also notice I have never found a natural entrance to level 2 of a cave, are these only made by creating a Minehole on level 1 ?

^^ The resources can be on level1 afaik, all the ones I've seen though are from l2 downwards ... and yes to go down the levels from level1 you do need to build a mineshaft for each level.

Why do I receive half-q meat while butchering livestock, I mean domesticated animals? Do I miss something or that's just how tamed meat works?

I use q123 axe on q40 fresh corpse, the character has 76 survival. And I get q20 horse meat.

I think butcher tamed animal is softcap by farming skill, not survival.

Thank you, my farmer got better results indeed, but still looks like something is missing: slicing q36 meat from the same q40 copse.

Tamed animals do have a "meat quality" parameter, I believe. If you were at 90% meat quality, that would make sense.

Yes, but didn't the meat quality modifier applies to stats of the living animal when you're slaughtering it? Otherwise it would be very confusing to have qX corpse and receive qX*N meat from it. This is only my assumption, I do not have such information, unfortunately.

Edit: ah, I think I got the logic behind this. Since the animal most often will have different modifiers for the meat and the hide, you must be right and the corpse inherits its stats directly from the living animal, while the q-modifiers applied later. Will test it in the following days.

Secondly, i decided to play the game again, after a few years. I was with some friend, but we couldn´t figure out how to encounter each other. Is the hearthsecret feature to spawn near your friends out of the game? If it is the case, I have to party and pretty much walk to them?
