Does the word "niche" ring a bell? Because you obviously can't compete in the mass appeal market against the likes of WoW. The game is not *supposed* to be for everyone. You can't create a game for everyone, if everyone doesn't want to play it. You can't design and come up with creative innovation without other people.

Before, if you found a resource you wanted you could have it claimed on a new character within a few hours. Now, if you find one everyone and their mother is rushing to get yeomanry before you to get it and even if you can be on 24/7 it's unlikely you will beat them.Potjeh wrote:It never was about diligence, it was always blind luck.

I just love how this community is such that a person can't make a constructive suggestion post with absolutely no whining without being accused of being a whiner, and told to go play a different game.

Funny how WoW is the only mmo you make comparisons up to this point, do you "even" play games?Potjeh wrote:It never was about diligence, it was always blind luck.

I never said anything about competition, since its more about survivability of the game itself (not the survival game aspect mind you).
HnH doesn't really focus on a Niche market because it's game elements kept being changed, and this isn't because its competitive.
It's more like a testbed for seeing what works, so it can be used or improved in Salem as a different thing.
Exactly, the community is broken, as I said much much earlier, and the same community denies it, which proves it. If the member of the community would keep their comments to themselves and try to put an effort to prove "why this comment was wrong, and why should the [commenter] cares" rather than making obvious trolling for their E-Peens. The way I see kids comments like "Go play another game jerkwad, etc." sounds more like "I'm gonna shank you so i'll get accepted by the other members of teh gang".I just love how this community is such that a person can't make a constructive suggestion post with absolutely no whining without being accused of being a whiner, and told to go play a different game.

Funny how this guy is 4-5 days away from being a "2011er"novaalpha wrote:ITT dumbass 2011er OP doesn't know how good the current system is.
Burn.
Not to mention the OP is just providing criticism.
EDIT: Nevermind, no I didn't misread it >.>

Re: Thoughtful Criticism For The New LP System
I liked this game when it was about doing things that were productive and logical (Build a house, do some farming) instead of "Create character, wander around, play with dolls," so I support this suggestion.
Pretty sure I'm about to get the usual

I'm finding the new LP system more fun than I thought it would be... there's even more to do than there was before because there's yet another huge set of items to craft, in addition to what was already in the game.

Re: Thoughtful Criticism For The New LP System
The OPs suggestion was to put a cap on LP so you can ONLY GET A LIMITED AMOUNT A WEEK. So if your complaint is that you can only do so much before you have to log off, which is a retarded thing to say - do something productive maybe, how is it going to change when you've gotten your weeks worth of LP in three days?
Today is a good day to die.

Re: Thoughtful Criticism For The New LP System
Rather than capping the LP gain per week, limit LP gain from construction by "once per ingame day".
Bots can't build massive amounts of houses in a day, since they only get LP from the first house they contribute to.
Log Cabin = 1000 LP for finishing / 250 LP for contributing the 2nd most to the house for the first time in a day.
Timber House = 2000 LP for finishing / 500 LP for contributing the 2nd most to the house for the first time in a day.
You can only get this LP boost once per ingame day, which is long enough that even bots can't grind it, and they'll be forced to do a magnitude of other stuff first.
How many ingame days are in one real time day? Several, if you can stay ingame that long. So if you "even bothered" to get materials to build houses, you would get at most, 10000~30000 LP in one real time day. Trying to bot this for prolong periods of time is impossible, because you then need to deforest trees by the thousands to do this for a week. And it makes it too obvious that someone is botting in the area if people started deforesting for botting, thus rangers would come and kill em off easier (since your botting, I really doubt you can mass attain murder with many bots as easily, especially if you make them stay online to grind houses, they'd have to be forced to stay logged out in order to avoid being detected or killed off.
Compared to world 4, which you can get 18k from a bear, earn 100s of LP off of crafting grinding, and totaling to around 20k~100k a real time day, its much lesser.
