But none of us are playing nowadays. And I fully intend to continue discouraging people from playing because the game is the biggest pile of wasted potential I've ever seen. It's more broken than Greece's economy. And this bears repeating hundreds of times a day, lest the devs forget.

As long as you dirty Canadians continue to exist, I will be here to fight the good fight you dirty, moose-fucking twat.bmjclark wrote:"It. Is. A. GAME. It is meant as a time sink to play for fun. Does your progress in this game matter at all? No, it really doesn't. It's meant for FUN. If you don't find it fun, move on to something else."
I still think that sums it up. A lot of people still do play the game, and if he doesn't want to, we really don't need his BS discouraging those who do enjoy it. Also, honestly, if you don't even play get off the forums. We don't really need pessimistic fucks like you and avu discouraging those who still play
And to bring a bit of honesty to my post, no a lot of people don't play this game. The game was designed for fun, but fucksticks like you and the Russians have turned it into Haven & Grief. People who don't want the game to be like worlds 4-6 are gone. That means the game and the player base has regressed to newbies and shitheads and that plain sucks. Congratulations on being a fuckstick. Oh, and as you and your ilk dance around and celebrate your terribly unqualified kills and victories, understand you've removed all challenge from the game for yourselves. Which is why I neither fear nor respect your crappy factions because you aren't taking on anything real. I fully look forward to jorb and loftar fixing several mechanics and bringing back updates, because at that time you chuckleheads are going to be more marginalized than lawn furniture in winter.

There is no such thing.WarpedWiseMan wrote: ...and masturbate more than is healthy
Also, I have the feeling most of the older players have left the game now that I think about it. Everyone above 22 or something (older...) has quit and the 12-22 year olds remain.

Nah, I'm a fair bit above the cutoff age there, and my wife and I still play. But I can't totally disagree with with OP and WWM's premise, we are mostly reduced to playing Farmville (Now with hunting!) inside our brickwalled village, since there's only 2 of us and we only have a rudimentary grasp of HnH combat.

I think burg was talking about the hardcore crowd, not casual players.

And a good amount of deaths which many people aren't willing to pay that price.
And at this current world, death is a low price to pay at the moment as well.
And the line of casual and hardcore is pretty blurred. For example, some hardcore people are still unable to deal with raiders while a few casual players can easily destroy them.

Define hardcore. I've only been around for a few months, but I've racked up a lot of time and managed to become competent in most things, I like to think. Obviously I've never run or even been in one of the 'superpower" villages, but we have managed to build 3 fully functional and protected villages so far this world with only 2 people. First one was a piss-poor location, I had more people and overestimated their willingness to work, take guidance, and mind the defenses. Second and third are, so far, going well.Oddity wrote:I think burg was talking about the hardcore crowd, not casual players.
I have to admit, when I was reading a lot of Burg, Avu, etc.'s comments in the interim period between W5 and W6, I just figured they were burnt out and bitter, but as I've played more and watched the world unfold, I've come to realize they were right. There's simply no incentive or reason, except for personal "moral code" (for lack of a better term), to play as anything but a raider. It's exponentially harder to play constructively then it is to simply focus your abilities on taking from others. Less work, more reward... it's really hard to blame anyone for playing that way.
I realize that "hard targets", meaning settlements without gaping flaws in their defense, are a fair bit of work to break into, but those kind of raids seem to be the vast minority. Most are more of the "dumb noob left a hole/went outside with his keys/trusted someone they shouldn't have" variety. It's one of the reasons I've focused on self-sufficiency, since even trading leaves wide open holes in your defense, and you have very few ways to determine trustworthiness or even exact revenge.
Sorry for the wall, been a lot of HnH thoughts floating in my head.
