Growing steadily. Still no barley.

You don't even need barley/farming this world.

I'm hermiting, no crops yet - got enough salt to get 100+ stats off my 20 cooking sausages easy.

So 300 stats without crops won't even take that long if they can consistently get enough salt.

Yeah you don't need barley, you just need something many times rarer that's limited to a handful of players.
