something for the devs to think about...
watch and learn how to monetize a game the right way and why you did it the wrong way

Why should you be the only one entitled to get his own p2p thread? Merging this.

The only shitstorm is the self-entitled children who thinks the Jorbtor owe them anything. i'd rather keep playing the game, which kicks ass.Claeytttt wrote:HI Painhertz, I haven't seen any comments from you about this whole shitstorm yet.painhertz wrote:No

Re: P2P plan
My thread about P2P was closed, so I submit my disapproval for this system like 2000 other people. It shows how 'seatribe' do everything for money, not for real fans.
Sorry to hear that, but fans will be gone so noone will pay you :c Bad economy logic, for sure you will be rich, for sure.
Sure.

Re: P2P plan
I wouldn't have problem for the game to be p2p. But as many have said, this model isn't good. I'll point out some flaws from the most critical to the less:
1) Giving the option for players to trade Game Time effectively makes the game 100% pay to win. That is the most serious flaw of this payment model and must be withdrawn immediately.
2) Believe it or not, 10$/month is a rather much for a game in alpha state, as others said. I know you have worked hard on this game, but still in it's current state I don't think the game is worth 10$/month.
3) The time/month model has flaws. It gives room for exploits. Someone can have 10 accounts and play 120 hours per month.
hey, can you read this?

Re: P2P plan
As a Salem player who has never played H&H:
1. People keep saying Jorb/Loftar. Why have you guys not started calling them JLo?
2. I have only skimmed the idea, but the time limit is complete 1990's AOL style 'creativity'. Permanent trials don't do anyone any good. As a gamer, any new game which holds a time limit over my head is basically going out of their way to ruin immersion for me. The end result is: oh yeah, I never play those games.
Developers have a really hard time seeing things from the player perspective. This is one of the reasons I am so fond of the current Salem devs who are openly discussing design changes on the forums. I hope H&H does extremely well with its new systems, I simply hope for the sake of gaming that they try a little harder to make it work for everyone involved. I see the time limit being the biggest detriment to getting people involved in the game, yet I see pay2play as a viable option for these games due to the undeniable reduction in alt creation pay2play would cause.
I am just now, right actually now, having my friend go through the Salem tutorial. Yes like right this instant. And if I had to tell him "oh hurry up man you only have a few (exaggerating) hours to see if you actually like this game that takes months to get the hang of" - I would likely go play some other game with him with the time we have available.
If I had to tell him, "Dude just fork up $5 and play with me for a month to see if you like it." Probably a deal.
