He has been warned already. Report such things in the future and don't derail the thread.

The game is actually unplayable.
I'm aware that the game is on alpha stage, so I guess, performances issues could be considerated as part of this.
So yeah, we can't ask devs to buy new server, or to simply work on HnH since Salem must be taking a lot of time...

It's obvious, the server side of the game has memory leaks, playing just after server reboot is very appreciable, there are nearly no lags.
2-3 days later we have some time for playing between lags.

So what about making a script which would reboot the server sometimes? (before it crashes by itself because of memory issues)?
Something like once a day, always at the same hour so everybody knows (maybe first we should get the average time with the less hearthlings playing).
Or maybe better, a script which would check for available RAM and clean reboot if not enough.

I think it would be very appreciated by players. And even by devs cause they won't have to manually launch back the game server.
And without too much work, we could manage to make this game a lot more appreciable.

Thanks Jorb and Loftar to consider this suggestion.

As somebody already posted screenshot of network packets I doubt it is something with server itself. I think that main problem to have lag is in network and traffic amount. I'm waiting for devs to confirm as they are probably the only ones, with admin rights to get traffic statistics from server. Maybe I'm wrong and there is really something with server, but that would mean, that they need to write to company that is renting server to check it's hardware.

If it was network issues i think there would be data loss.
Here when you do an action, it's always done (after some time), means they are queued server side (and client side).

False, you can have tons of informations on server hardware with only a terminal in linux.
Also, if it is what I think (memory leak), looking at free RAM (with only "top" command) should be enough.

Also now the game is pretty much fluid. And there are more players than 1/2h before.
So I guess the devs did something. If they did, they also found the problem. Congratulations :]

Edit : Nevermind it's still laging a lot.

I endorse your suggestion. At the moment, game is hardly playable.

IIRC Jorb said that the current lag is due to the game backing up it's data constantly. IMO once a day would be good enough for backups.

iirc, devs want to manually launch back the game server to shoot problems as to why/how the server gets crashed.
