Exactly. It's a silly statement by itself to say permadeath is not sacral. Permadeath is a mechanic to bring out very specific human reactions. The people who play Haven, play it for many different reasons, but permadeath is, for sure, one of the main ones. The bondbuilding with your main character, the adrenaline rush when it gets in a dangerous situation. Shortcutting this system even by a little bit would ruin the entire point. Jorb and Loftar have enough love for this baby of theirs to never go into such a self-suicide as touching any of the core mechanics of the game with monetization. Permadeath and quality are the 2 key mechanics that bring in most people. They won't touch them. The rest is the question
