Re: Wiki - Interest Thread
Do it, easier to fix shit up from this tbh.Spiff wrote:Question: It's relatively easy to import all the data from the wikia wiki. Should I do this? Or just start fresh.
With semantic mediawiki and templates together fixing up a different design than this piece of shit is easy, just need the data there.
Also has most of the groundwork I would be moving anyway.

Wow for some reason a lot of the pages are really crappy versions - like Attributes is a very old version and not at all the most recent - did the import from Wikia grab old versions?

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

Sweet Attributes seems fixed - if that did all of them, I'm set on using this one -- tho infoboxes need rebuilt Badly, they're malformatting.
However, I have to be honest, I don't see what was so bad about Wikia - other than some bad content by some users, the infoboxes all seemed to work fine.
EDIT: I take it back, infoboxes look good though if only they'd right-justify next to text like in Wikia, it'd be perfect.

Should be fixed, needed a refresh. If some templated pages are being wonky, just refresh them.Gedrean wrote:EDIT: I take it back, infoboxes look good though if only they'd right-justify next to text like in Wikia, it'd be perfect.

Re: Wiki - Interest Thread
The numbers in the info templates appear to be links by default (e.g. Base LP Gain: [[0]])... Needless to say, I don't think that's very useful. Is there a way to make them plain text?
Nice domain name, and it's nice to see the good ol' wiki layout we all know and love.

I referenced the wiki all the time in W3. It would be great to begin W4 version, especially with all the change that have been implemented. Thanks Dat for bringing up this topic.

Can confirm, numbers are showing up as redlinks, Probably a result of the import --Danno wrote:The numbers in the info templates appear to be links by default (e.g. Base LP Gain: [[0]])... Needless to say, I don't think that's very useful. Is there a way to make them plain text?

Also, the "required-by" section is doing some odd formatting - it places a space BEFORE and AFTER the comma, so for leather, for example:
Required By
Backpack , Battleaxe of the Twelfth Bay , Boar Tusk Helmet , Coffer , Cylinder Hat , Gold Spoon Lure , Hardened Leather , Large Chest , Leather Armor , Leather Boots , Leather Cloak , Leather Pants , Newsboy Cap , Palisade , Poor Man's
The spacing differs a little from item to item but the spacing ends up with some items having a comma at the NEXT line, needless to say looks bad.
Other'n that, things look nice.
