actually its to provide public examples of when posters have broken the rules and also to humiliate troublemakers

I know, I'm not an idiot.

Edit: But perhaps you are if you think Steeev is going to be humiliated or that people were unsure of the rules enough to know whether or not his image is appropriate or not.

I can't believe you think this is some sort of convincing argument.

Are you trying to suggest that allowing skin tone opens the door for people to somehow pressure the developers to insert science fiction elements?

If people don't like it when someone suggests the implementation of Mediterranean climatic and geographic elements, why are they racists when they reject different skin coloring? It's the same thing. They just don't want the game to deviate too far from the current setting. Regardless of what the website says, the official words of developers is that they are willing to stick to a mostly Northern European setting. Should brown-haired people whine that males are blond and females redheads now?

For the record, I wouldn't particularly mind extending the scope of the game to include a couple of Mediterranean settings. That would require a better mapgen, though.

As for the original poster; the game is supposed to be set in a predominantly European setting, so it would be quite weird with non-European races running around. Even if it were a generic setting, however, Jorb and I are white, and I think that is reason quite enough for us to keep the characters white. (Obviously, the setting was not chosen on a complete whim.)

Is it because you know think that saying this will aggravate me, that you think the rest of the forum will agree with you, and so it's at my expense?
I think that "saying this will aggravate you" is more than enough reason in itself. You do appear to need a good trolling.
