Alright, as someone who was sleeping when this happened but is still a part of the village who did the raid.
From what I gather, the actions were legal in the game. It's not clear whether they were intended, but probably not. However, minehole raiding has been a thing every world thus far, and with some minor security precautions it wouldn't have happened. How is this any different from some noob camp leaving a cave/minehole in their base and getting raided that way? In no world ever was that intended, but people still did it, because the defenders had so obviously brought it upon themselves.

This isn't at all about mineholes, nobody disagrees with that, or has voiced such a thing anyways.ArvinJA wrote:Alright, as someone who was sleeping when this happened but is still a part of the village who did the raid.

This is about abusing the charterstone system to loophole the visitor debuff into allowing you to commit crimes in a place you - by all means - should not have been able to otherwise.

You're missing the point. It used to be that poor security meant building a minehole in your village without walling it, now we have an analogous situation with charterstones.Archiplex wrote:This isn't at all about mineholes, nobody disagrees with that, or has voiced such a thing anyways.ArvinJA wrote:Alright, as someone who was sleeping when this happened but is still a part of the village who did the raid.

I'd agree but the only thing I need to do so is agreement from Jorb- if he wanted people who knew your charter secret to be able to raid you due to that fact, then why does teleporting to a charterstone apply a visitor debuff? (which is what I've been told, correct me here and I have no issues anymore)ArvinJA wrote:You're missing the point. Otherwise this is just using charterstones (not meant for raiding) and an open gate (not meant to be raidable anymore) to raid someone.

Arguably, using someone's minehole to raid them was never intended either.Archiplex wrote:Otherwise this is just using charterstones (not meant for raiding) and an open gate (not meant to be raidable anymore) to raid someone.
Plus, visitor debuff could have easily been removed by walking through the open gate. R'lyeh basically gave their city away.

True, but not nearly as controversial nor problematic as something as niche as what happened in OP.ArvinJA wrote:Arguably, using someone's minehole to raid them was never intended either.Archiplex wrote:Otherwise this is just using charterstones (not meant for raiding) and an open gate (not meant to be raidable anymore) to raid someone.
I highly doubt Jorb appreciates this tactic, considering he doesn't like "if your gate is accidently open you lose" or "if you die with a key you lose" type situations- whereas a minehole still requires you to break into a base if it is properly secured.

Sure, I also don't think jorb intends for us to psychoanalyze him before we make any decision.Archiplex wrote:True, but not nearly as controversial nor problematic as something as niche as what happened in OP.ArvinJA wrote:Arguably, using someone's minehole to raid them was never intended either.Archiplex wrote:Otherwise this is just using charterstones (not meant for raiding) and an open gate (not meant to be raidable anymore) to raid someone.

That's fair, what I am saying is under the assumption that he doesn't intend/would disapprove- I'd find it a reasonable basis though (and it seems plenty of others agree.ArvinJA wrote: Sure, I also don't think jorb intends for us to psychoanalyze him before we make any decision.
Ultimately, we'll wait for his word ofc.

tbh. Our minehole was walled in until lvl 3. We didnt know that u can bug exploit your way around visitor debuff with alt spawning we never tried it out etc.
AND nobody reported it in bugs.
Thats why we left it this way, i dont know what you want me to tell, but you guys found out a huge bug to destroy some towns who are not active 24 7 and did not report it, but exploit it.

Then go and cry when you discover your politics are stealing the money your dads pay in taxes. OF course reporting it is never as rewarding as getting the money, especially when the ones creating the laws are in the same party as the ones abusing it.Ozzy123 wrote:Reporting bugs isn't rewarding enough.
