at least it sounds like it was considered.loftar wrote:Possible, but probably completely pointless, since all he'd have to do is get a new dynamic IP, and is also confirmed for using VPNs when convenient.Mario_Demorez wrote:Im curious if an IP ban is possible?

- The account primarily involved in the exploit has been banned. Capes, hats, and all.
- Gates and selected parts of the palisade of the village "Campfire", have been deleted. The winds now come and go as they please in this place, but no fire has been otherwise rained on it.
- The aforementioned well has been restored as best as we believe it was.
Yeah, after something like that, the currently enacted punishment should be enough to deter him from using exploits again, if not outright make the account holder stop playing the game altogether.loftar wrote:Possible, but probably completely pointless, since all he'd have to do is get a new dynamic IP, and is also confirmed for using VPNs when convenient.Mario_Demorez wrote:Im curious if an IP ban is possible?
If you have nothing to make, then maybe it is still something. Why? Because you possess the idea that you wish to make something from nothing.

Pretty sure it was some combination of an object which can hold a player being carried through a gate with some complications.rasln wrote:Now that the bug is already know and being fixed can someone explain to me how ti worked?
I too am a programmer, so i'm really curious.

It was apparently possible to sleep in a bed being carried by going to sleep at the exact same time as someone picked it up. The bed could then be carried through a gate and the sleeper wake up on the inside without a visitor debuff.rasln wrote:Now that the bug is already know and being fixed can someone explain to me how ti worked?
In order to log the player out without crashing the code up the stack still "using" the network connection, there is an internal (not visible to the outside) delay between reaching the bed and actually going to sleep in it. During this internal delay, the bed was not monitored for being picked up.rasln wrote:I too am a programmer, so i'm really curious.

Yes, perma bans on accounts of the bug abusers like this is something I can get behind with. Heavy hand ruling. Saw the baby in half!algeralith wrote:To be honest. I'd be perfectly fine in just seeing his character's nuked and deleted. Maybe even an permanent account ban.
I'm not entirely for nuking the entire village in this case. Though, that does not mean I'm against it either.

When will this bug be fixed? I am asking on part to be able to know when CF would be able to open again for the community.loftar wrote:It was apparently possible to sleep in a bed being carried by going to sleep at the exact same time as someone picked it up. What I am wondering is, what happens for the Char that was lost due to this bug being abused? He lost his char because of someone's abusing. Is he left with nothing but an inherit?
