Still won't help. People will make massive claims and not have a single person in that characters kin list. Thus avoiding the 'friendly' take-over.
Ok I think I see the problem here, you misinterpreted "your scent collection" to mean "collecting your OWN scents" which would obviously be stupid (particularly because 'friendlies' aka people with claim privileges don't leave scents). What I meant was that if your a friendly of a claim and you collect a HOSTILE scent then that act of collection is considered equivalent to the owner doing it and the collection action defends the claim.

This in no way transfers any ownership to the friendly, in fact their is no 'transfer' at all, a claim can only be eroded until it dies and then a new claim put over the same ground by a new party. Try to read the original post in-full next time and read what I actually said would be the mechanic not just the primer on Hostile-Possession.

I'll bump this and quote my OP post.

Still doesn't really do jack compared to the ease of claim alts or the fact that LP that goes into claims doesn't require any form of economic development of that land or controlling resources.

All you need is black skills and you can interact with anything on a claim... Really claims aren't even the protective part, walls are.

you have to earn the LP some how, so you do actually have an economic investment in a claim even if its an afk claim alt you just feed curios. a plus to what Nooby said: if someone just puts up a claim and leaves it all you need is trespassing to take basic stuff(foraging on claimed land leaves no scents but does require trespassing). so claims aren't as powerful as you seem to think(especially now that the person has to remember to log in all their claim alts once a month).

Exactly, there's no way to ''weaken'' a claim, it doesn't protect squat. A claim only offers protection if your living a in a village and someone (From your village) steals an item from your claim. (Implying your plot doesn't have a wall). Aside from that a claim is near worthless.

I'd like there to be a construction that you can build to speed the time until a claim is weakened. Should take a bit of resources. I'd go into more details, but mama jorb's punk rock lifestyle prevents him from doing anything posted in the C&I forum ever.

Well then, make a suggestion to stop developing the game all together. Who knows, maybe it will work.
