Re: Downtime notice: Server overload
Calling people noobs and whiners really doesn't help the game at all. Yeah, you show how serious you are about the game by coming out on top, but it doesn't change the fact that you really don't have much competition because the game is so unfriendly to new people. For the past year, there's been on average 250-350 players online. There's been no net growth. Unless you can admit there's a problem, H&H will never become a "real game" with an acceptable population.burgingham wrote: Not this again. If there is one reason I want a reset right now, it is to prove people like you wrong yet again (have already done that after world 2 ended, so yeah you are not the first guy bringing this up). A few weeks into world 4 there will be Sodom again and there will be AD again (or whatever we might call ourselves next world) and there will be you whiners who say they have no chance in hell to catch up. A reset won't change the fact that you are noobs (copyright by avu) and won't be able to compete even if we start at the same time. On the other side there are dedicated guys like AD who only started a few months ago and have already caught up to Sodom or even outmatched us.
This is not saying the very time intensive LP system is perfect for a permadeath game, but this topic has been discussed at length elsewhere.

Yes. More useless, lazy twats who will quit in few weeks anyway, trying to rationalize their weak effort. I took a stroll in the outer grids and found one unclaimed (and unprospected) iron mine already. Damn is this game hard or what?
You keep crying for a reset, pretending that it will make you as good as the senior players are. Guess what? You're still going to be as useless as you are now. The top tier of the game is on the top because they are so fucked up in the head that they can keep the grind up day after day, month after month.
The reason we don't want a reset is not because we're afraid of losing in the e-penis comparison, but because there is no fucking reason to do it. Get it? There is no new content, no radical changes that'd warrant a complete restart under works. It'd be the same grind again. And then the devs wouldn't be able to do any radical changes "because the world was just reset".
If you want to experience the newbie phase again, go drown yourself in the closest lake/river and start again.
"waiting for a wipe so they can actually compete" = lazy twats who shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.
"deforested land and abandoned buildings scattered around" = take a look at the map. See those entire supergrids with signs of human life at all?
"due to the world's age" = no, due to useless lazy twats who give up after the initial rush wears off

Herp derp. Oh, 500 players is not decent population. It would be so much better if there were 10,000 players playing, oh yeah!Zamp wrote:The people against the "reset whinners" are the reason why H&H will never have a decent population. Since there are no real caps, the time you spent playing automatically correlates to the success of your character. Even more people are just plainly turned off by all the deforested land and abandoned buildings scatted around due to the world's age. Until there's somewhat of a cap system and an automated process to bring back isolated forests

I'm not arguing for or against a reset at all actually. I just think that the constant defense of "You can't complain about it because it's only an alpha and you don't pay for it!!" and now your even worse "Nobody's opinion actually matters!" is a dumb defense tactic because then why have forums at all? Why discuss anything if apparently nothing anyone says matters at all?Winterbrass wrote: Because idiots like you legitimize my opinion? Really, now, do you ever think before you post?

Re: Downtime notice: Server overload
The "no growth" argument always makes me chuckle. Despite the fact that it is not even a goal of the devs to make this game big fast and earn their living with it (might have as well sold the rights to some big company already then, they had enough offers) we have grown from a point were 30 players online at a time was considered much to now where we constantly have about 400 players online, more than 500 at peaks. Guess what, since the days only 30 people were playing there were guys like you claiming this game would constantly loose players. Something must be wrong with all you guys arguments.

Re: Downtime notice: Server overload
Again somebody is forgeting that you need to own something to be such successfull. And ofc have a bunch of trustworthy ppl around u to help u. I'm 100% sure that A.D. didn't start from 0. But there were probably a lot of ppl that already had some weapons, tools and stuff, even some ppl who owned mine joined.burgingham wrote:AD has proven that you still can do anything, even several months into the world. So you want to say that if now we put in world 10-20 newbs that they can make village stronger or at least even strong as your or A.D.? They won't even find own mine and probably not even good clay, water and soil spot. Most of spots are already taken. Ok even if they find one spot, they still need other stuff to success. The fastest way to success now in game is to have a good stuff to sell: gold, silver, iron, jewelry,... If u have none of this u r 0. U can read this many times big fucking 0, zero, nada, нулю, nič, ling, nolla, null, אפס, rei, cero, sifir, nula... Got that? In current world only chance to get such mine is to find a cave mine very close to entrance on edge of the world but that would at least take 1-2 months. Before those newebs manage to build up enough agi to travel to center to trade that stuff there would be at least 1 more month and 1 month for building all buildings, fields,... So at least 4 months to even be on same boat as big ones are, not as strong as they are. Then you need at least 2 motnhs to raise your quality of crops, food, wood,...
So don't tell me that A.D. was bunch of total newbs if u need at least 4-6 months to make decent village with at least 100+q food. Even if they play 24/7 plants just don't grow so fast. When A.D. formed they already had most of that stuff so that is why they have grownso fast. And what makes them even stronger? Mnopol over silver and gold in their region. I bet u will hardly find a village or player that still owns silver or gold mine to sell stuff and had nothing to do with A.D.
So plz don't bullshit that u can do anything after few months when world starts. You cannot if u already don't have something to build on. Going from zero when basicaly all resources are already taken and when you need to grind 2 hours to get a simple chest of fucking cast iron q10 in not a way to do it. Trust me. Been there done that.
