TBH, when you signed up into a game that is clearly labeled as "in eternal alpha" you pretty much signed up for these kinds of changes. I don't want to run anyone away from the game, but this is one of the facts of development. You've been around long enough to know this, I think, as well as a few others that beef about it.Sarge wrote:Loftar, with respect, you guys have to cut this shit out. Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Can't confirm. Foraging and planting a few bushes and trees is easily doable.stickman wrote: I know people were doing stuff like eating 10 different things and not caring about satiations at all and lvling up soley from variety bonus's... which is not really feasable for the casual hermit...

Understandable, but it does help to think your changes through. It's a reasonable change, however the players who have higher stats now are way ahead, people can't catch up as easily. The gap became so much bigger, like with the change to kebabs, people who spammed them got ahead and people who didn't are now way behind... I'm not saying that it was an unreasonable change, and probably nothing to be done about it, but as of lately the updates seem rather... Irrational, not well thought-out. Right now you got 2 systems working against you, hunger and satiations, and variety was the only way to get some decent stat gain, it was very retarded however i agree with that. But something needs to be done about those 2 systems, gaining 4-5 stats a day isn't very fun, unless you like running around talking to trees for hours.loftar wrote:To be honest, if we worry about losing players at every turn, there's no way to go on developing the game.Artemiswhb wrote:Good way to see all those players fly away with the storm

Why bother with the C&I subforum then?loftar wrote:Of course we aren't just doing random shit and see what sticks; in case you thought otherwise, we do try to reason about the changes and exert ourselves to try doing the best we can. This argument is quite flawed, as it hinges upon the idea that you only have to catch up to the point where they are now. In reality, they'll continue to level up while you're catching up to that point, and pull away even more. This change may make it more difficult to catch up to their current point, but it also makes it even harder for them.Artemiswhb wrote:It's a reasonable change, however the players who have higher stats now are way ahead, people can't catch up as easily.

There are different kinds of feedback. Ideas are nice. Specific points of critique are useful (when posted in a useful form). There are cases where it's meaningful to ask about something, for instance to ask people to find potential flaws (such as the recent threads about siege mechanics).loleznub wrote:Why bother with the C&I subforum then?

And not anyone can be bothered to do quests with such a stupid quest system.loftar wrote: I've seen variety being overpowered, and in much the same way, you can't prove me wrong.
You allow players to 24/7 quest, earning stupid amounts of LP and hunger %... but remove a completely viable alternative food system fking with "its overpowered".

Putting stupid hate aside, how are you guys doing on "considering quest mechanics"? Because there are people out there that actually spend a lot of time on this game, care about the politics etc etc, big nerds but nvm, one faction being superior to another because they're younger, able to skip school and spend 15h/day on questing is just.. not fair. And the gap is getting bigger and bigger when we compare the stats.

Just to be sure : our usual way is to eat one type of food for specific FEP, and try to get different stats on one pice. Like pizroki bread, or spicy salad. Does it mean the bonus from having 5 stats on a piece of food is lessened ?
30 mins ago, eating one spicy salad made me gain stats, has it changed now ?

I'm still curious how you devs think a miningchar is supposed to be playable now.
