oh don't get me wrong, windows 7 is a huge improvement over xp, just make sure you download and install the video card drivers from the manufacturer (nvidia, ati, etc) and it will work just great

Tobel, have you installed nVidia's own binblob drivers? Foul as though they may smell, it's the only way to have working OpenGL in Linux with nVidia hardware.

For the record, I know that the nVidiadrivers that ship with 7 are known to cause that. I don't know if they don't implement OpenGL properly or something, but on the computers that I've seen it on, installing nVidia's own drivers from their homepage has fixed the problem.
