Question for the thieves out there..

Postby halloween » Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:45 am

Since we can't play cause the server is down and I have been wondering for a while now..Just what exactly do you thieves get out of the game..I mean I know what the people who hunt you down gets out of it... :D but honestly..You make a character and you grind your little hearts out using all our trees and making us mad right there..Then you get thief skills and you hit every place possible..Sure you may get away with some places but then you get a little cocky and you hit bigger places and then you are hunted down and killed.Ok I know you can reincarnate but still you have to start all over again..using all our trees and stealing and being hunted down..it is a vicious cycle for you..
I was just wandering is there a point in time where you actually learn your lessons and stop thieving or is it that your to stupid or lazy to actually try to accomplish things for your selves instead of just learning the fastest way to die besides swimming..lol

Thieves get the satisfaction from reading posts like yours, knowing they have raged someone and gotten a prize for it.

ahh but I am not raged...was just curious..but on that note though I guess that satisfaction goes both ways cause the results..the thieves rage us we kill them then we rage them and they too come post and waa waa cause someone killed them.. :D Suppose it is true then what goes around comes around..and I will be shocked as hell if a actual thief replies to this..

I steal from places, a lot. But only abandoned places as most people probably do. I wouldn't steal a chest full of wrought iron I find in someone's open palisading because that'd be totally assholish because that's expensive and possibly time consuming to create (Also they'd be angry enough to hunt me the fuck down).

I'm behind a few layers of palisading though so tracking is a bit hard :)

3 palisades is as good as 1 due to several palisade breakers in the world and the maintainance is just awful.

I was wondering about this myself. I guess they more of a casual regard of their character. I am thinking of rolling a thief character at some point when I get bored and see for myself. Being someone that does a good amount of tracking, I should learn how to evade getting killed based on the knowledge.

Whether we reply or not, complain or not, rage or not, psychopaths like this will receive pleasure from our perceived stress, whether it's all in their head or not.
Do we have a problem? Why dont you punch me in the face as hard as you can. Pour some honey on me, let me see you get really mad! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmAZfLRqIpI 1:10

This notion that all thieves steal to enrage people is hilarious.

Duke..I was not meaning the ones who actually hit the abandoned places as I am sure we all have done that once or twice..but good to know you are smart enough to know what would get you killed and what wouldn't..

What i was talking about is the ones out there that has a dozen or more characters and all for thieving..They are the ones that actually do nothing but steal and never really get anywhere in the game..it must really be horrible in my point of view to always be having to regain all those lp's to get that skill back..rebuild your little palisided house over and over again cause you can't do it in the same spot as most places known to be thieve hide outs are watched...Why would someone continue to do this over and over..Is it that they are just that dumb or lack the sense enough to know how to really play the game?

Dataslycer..I am glad I am not alone in the wandering part..And I am sure since you have a good bit of knowledge about the game and have actually played the right way and learnt alot that you could accomplish the thieving and not getting killed..Most trackers do know all the skills to protecting themselves especially with the amount of time invested to get the skills and attributes..it would suck losing all that..

Encephalon..that is my thoughts of them also..they have to be off in the head to spend all their time on this game getting killed over and over again..

Sosta...lol

ok let me give you all more of an example of what i meant..I actually meet a guy who was a thief..He had a I want get caught attitude..Would not listen to anyone and was not in no way going to take any advice given..he was a cocky little thing and just thought he knew it all..well he died..No surprise to anyone..his place was watched for signs of him being back with an alt..well he did make an alt got the skill back..tried to play off that it was not him..went back to stealing and guess what..he died again...It is a cycle that I am just not getting..Sure if he was learning something but he just keeps making the same stupid mistakes every time..
Why go through the trouble of doing this over and over???

I considered murdering another solo player that I was trading with, just to take his stuffz, but trading seemed like a better deal. Fuck, I should really have done it, just to see what it would have been like. For fuck's sake, I'm a viking, I'm just passing through, you know. It's a game, ffs.

I got totally pwnt by some russians recently, though. :P
