Why are the Russians so quiet?

Hello, Katchemash here. I'm a relatively new player and as such I'm doing quite well on my own with farming and stuff but I'd like to start trading food and other items for items I can't produce at the moment or items I don't have. Now no one is around me and every time I try to go exploring I come across towns where its written in Russian and I say Hello no one answers. I've been trying to get in touch with them day and night, logging on to see what time they do but its not successful at all. I know down the river is another town that I haven't tried so I might go there. But in any case, why is it so quiet with them?

Also anyone know of a settlement thats not claimed but has a stone saying BoxxyKiller or some such was killed here and a warning to the thieves. I certainly did not go in but the walls were falling down. I assume it is Russian as well because of the pillars they had all around. How many Russian towns are there? Should I avoid them (looking at the posts here all answer point to a yes).

No but seriously the places you're describing are most probably abandoned, or the Russians have killed themselves because they've run out of victims.

Diplomacy? It usually doesn't get past "hello." By that point they are already killing you.

I don't want to be responsible for ruining the KoS reputation for russians.. But, i know a couple of russians in game and we are really good friends. Ive had no problem with Russians so far. Both wich i know speak english pretty decent.

I guess the biggest problem is that some russians don't trust their english speaking skills well enough to try to communicate, my other friend was like that before, now he speaks english really good.

So i guess... be persistent?

All the Russians i've come across are either
terrified of you.. (with all the people mass
murdering them who wouldn't be?) or trying
to get you to leave/kill you, why? because
some people hunt them for fun and pretty much
descriminate against them. However, the
one group of Russians i actually attempted to
befriend are very kind and loyal, sure they
told me a mine was copper when it was silver
in the first week of map 3, but wouldn't you?

'The Russians' are people that speak a different
language than you, but at the same time
that's no reason to not trust them, sure some
may be making an army to kill everyone in
the game, blah blah, but it's also like saying
that all the english speakers of HnH lure noobies
to islands and slaughter them, or invite people
to play the game and kill them within the village
walls they built.

Don't get me wrong guys, I don't have anything against them. I was just curious whether they talked to outsiders or not. It seems to be that they are insular and don't associate with others normally in my grid I would think. I don't have anything against the Russians.
