A death without murder scents?

There are some people with very high stealth. As an example, the russian sniper who lived in that island fortress had killed someone and i could not find the murder scent for a very long time, only the battery (and that took about 10 tries). At the time i had over 200 base perception, 50 base exploration but was using a dawn chain and occult rings to try and see it. took me a very long time. if your dealing with someone like that, and only have 100 perception, you probably wont be able to see it.

We tracked the assault scents to his village, he is about as advanced as us, only a palisade and basic tools. It's highly doubtful that this guy would have such high level stats and be messing with noobs and even risking getting killed and losing 75%. But the question remains, why is there no murder scents, and why where we able to move the body right away?

well, if trespassing is the only thing he did, then he wasnt force summoned. but you say he grabbed crops too? thats vandalism and that is a summon able scent, but before you can get vandalism, you need theft, which is also summon able. as for the no scents thing, just keep looking, they might be hidden behind something. I actually had this happen to me as well except I didnt die. I noticed the loss in hitpoints and started looking around. I found assualt but nothing else. A method ive seen some people use to prevent leaving any summon able scents behind is to beat up on you a little at a time without knocking you out. Im not sure how it can kill though.

You'd be ebtter off getting them really low and attaching leeches to them.

There were assault scents, he was attacked when he was summoned. He did harvest some crops and check some baskets, so my villager did leave theft scents.
