The story is this.

We are just starting up a village, still full of new, low level players. We were recruiting a few more people since we were lacking in numbers.
Mopstar came along saying he would like to join and is fairly high leveled. We let him. Mopstar then started stealing stuff, even though we asked and told him not to. His response was "no one will do anything anyway" and he continued.

You killed an innocent guy. Mopstar had a few (metal) tools he was passing around that we were lacking (such as a pickaxe). My guess is this is one of the items he stole, you tracked the stolen item and killed whoever was holding it. This person happens to have been playing for less than 4-5 hours.

Mopstar is still alive. You killed an innocent person.
If you want to kill Mopstar, then go ahead, just leave the rest of us out of it. (I personally don't want some high level thief associated with us, but I have no power to stop him, or get rid of him, and even if I did, I could not force him as he could one shot kill me anyway)

you can't get summoned for holding stolen items. and a person playing 4-5 hours is wearing necro robe and ranger cloak? unlikely.

Owned ?

I'm tempted to go and "vandalize" it into something a bit more regular.

I thought it was cool.

As one of the two who slew him, we definitely killed Mopstar. We didn't track him from scents found at your place. We tracked him from the theft scents he left down in Damascus after I found he'd not only taken food and a boat, but my best herbalist table and all the silkmoths on it. He didn't apologize, but merely informed me that he'd moved away to some village full of new players.

Mopstar was carrying a ql 15 B12 Axe. If there was no other way to identify him (say, his name, which showed up nicely because I had him kined) we found the axe. No new player in your village was carrying around Mopstars shitty, shitty B12 axe.

Don't think we made a mistake.
it seems killing this sarah person will bring down the wrath of pande...which mean your following week goal will likely be making a ton of cone cows... -- niltrias

Well, I've equipped my alt with ranger boots and armor and a pick within 5 minutes, so it's possible, but yes. Unlikely

It's possible this happened. He had a HS to quickly and easily get back to his corpse, and maybe people were seeing an alt with those items. Combined with that and how we got about 30 new people in less than an hour, it's likely they confused him getting killed with someone else.

But we still had nothing to do with this, and in the words of Jackie Chan himself, we want "No trouble!".

It really isn't possible considering kinship verification of hearthfire and summoning with theft scents. Additionally, the character gave roughly 30k lp when it was killed which would make it a 1.5million lp character (I think?). It's possible he had other alts, but we definitely killed who we think we did. Of course, getting a character killed isn't the end of the game necessarily anyway.
