... but only if they implement midgets as a character option and add a feature that allows us to break chairs over other people's heads.

And also throw the midgets, while they're holding a chair - at other people - so that said chair breaks over the other person's head.

One way betting could be done is to create parchments and write name, who they bet on, and how much they bet, along with some sort of hashed serial number which somebody would keep a database of. This allows them to be used as bet tickets, while making it impossible (due to the security the hash creates) to "counterfeit" them and try to cheat the house. Would naturally be easiest to use this with coins.

Team and individual matches could be done, and bet on, with the teams themselves taking a percentage of the total bets if they win as a prize, and the rest being split up between the winners of the bets.

The whole thing could definately work if run by somebody trustworthy, and the combat could be figured out. Perhaps they could modify the game to simply post a message "X has defeated Y in a sparring match!" to the area chat when somebody wins for the benefit of this and other similar ideas.

Example ticket would read something like...

Zamte: Bet 10 silver coins on GuyA to win. A79d41

The six characters at the end are the "password" so to speak. Then the value "861e89771c215798cf8555df3ea8d96a" would be stored alongside it in the database/spreadsheet as the authenticity check. The parchment for my bet would have to match it when run through MD5 in order to be paid out. This way nobody could just make a parchment stating the same thing as the password would be randomly created when writing the bet ticket, and the only place it is recorded is in the database and on the parchment, thus if they tried, it would not match.

Since I'm from D4 I'd really like the idea of an arena. Drop a PM if you need any help!

The Arena of Champions:
So basically im thinking that i can build it atop the desert terrain so that we don't have tons of random bears boars etc. people will spar train their skills and other people can place bets on their favorite fighters.

the only issue is the supplies and good honest people to run the betting house etc.
i want to know what you in the forums think about this idea.

:3

so post awayyyy.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

How's it going as this post is a bit old.

It's two super grids to the North of D4.

You'd need to travel a longish way diagonally down the bottom left corner of your screen. You can't do it by boat without portaging because there will be at least two stretches of land to cross between the supergrids.
