Are there really still people out there who just hunt russians for them being that? Klaue is not around anymore you know.
That said I have encountered plenty of peaceful russians as well, their community is as versatile as any other. Still they like to keep to themselves, maybe because of events in the past, maybe for other reasons like the language barrier. I never read announcements from the major russian towns in here, all their politics and trades seem to be takin place between each other. In the long run such a policy isn't advisable, because it supports prejudices like the ones in this thread. So to all russians out there: If you want to be a part of the whole political community in haven get someone who speaks proper english and let them participate in the discussion here on the forums.
For the russians who really are just running around murdering....they are bad, really bad. So stay away from them and never assume one of their places is abandoned. Sometimes I get the impression they let places decay on purpose just so they can harvest scents there for their killing sprees.

Both of your sides, english and russian, should drop the xenophobia and try to overcome the language barrier.

Well english is commonly accepted as a universal language. I am no native speaker myself, yet I have accepted it for global communication, maybe so should the russians. Them clinging to their own language is just an anachronism which should have vanished together with the iron curtain.

one group of Russians i actually attempted to
befriend are very kind and loyal, sure they
told me a mine was copper when it was silver
in the first week of map 3, but wouldn't you?

'The Russians' are people that speak a different
language than you, but at the same time
that's no reason to not trust them, sure some
may be making an army to kill everyone in
the game, blah blah, but it's also like saying
that all the english speakers of HnH lure noobies
to islands and slaughter them, or invite people
to play the game and kill them within the village
walls they built.

Some russians are nice and trustworthy you nao on the other hand...

This is the internet,if English isn't your first language you need to accept that the typical language for most games/forums on the internet is American English.

Hell even BRs known for terrible English make an attempt, and for that I applaud them greatly, but most russians I run into don't care, they'll find one translator for their village and that's it, if that.

I once took off all my armor to look like a non-combat player and showed up at a Russian village. They saw me, and after I moved away from the guy blatantly aiming to sling me, they sent a guy out to melee me. All I said was "Sup." and "Just exploring.". Didn't try to storm past their opened gate or anything, they just tried to kill me on grounds that I was in their territory (e.g. on their village claim).

This language barrier, coupled with a previous well-known merciless slaughter of Russians, causes this serious unwarranted tension and aggression between Russians and non-Russians. It sucks.

I believe this xenophobia is probably just a natural stage of civilization's evolution, having someone to blame allows us to push against something else so we can straighten the back of our "culture". Although this is a game, I think it works the same way. Having a scapegoat makes a lot of thing easier, except for well, the scapegoat.

Personally I think the racism is funny, it is just like the cold war again. I am not racist, doesn't mean I don't tell racist jokes.

You seem to have missed the part where the Russians actually ARE killing people in the north for little to no reason.
