No there not. People like U in general are the real threat in my view.

Why do you think that? Are you our lovely hacker?

Lol. Nope.
- People that feel that strongly about bug-abuse/hacking? Usually don't stop there trying to get things there way.
If its a case of bug-abuse ... report, and ask for fix if not already asked. And use (whatever*) available game mechanics to deal with it in whatever way you like.
If its a real hacking case ... Well, the same applies more or less. Asking for Ban or/and IP's ... Way out of order in my view.

*If you feel ok with using bug-exploits against bug-abusers. (Or not, If you like to be able to say you never intentionally made use of known bugs to get you stuff done.)

I don't get what you're trying to say, really. This is a real hacking case, so I reported it. What's the problem?

The problem is that real life hack have nothing to do with this game. Report it to the proper authorities. The only "crime" in this game that devs would probably do anything would be bug abuse or attack on game servers.

Indeed.

I would help finding out the IP of the hacker, though; but seeing as how you already found him, I guess you don't need my help with it any longer, right?

I found his msn and ICQ. I can't do anything else, can I?
An IP would be great.

As someone not involved in the situation, I would be interested in knowing if the evidence supports the story.

Are there really people trying to get into others accounts? And what will be done when this is discovered?

I am starting to wonder, too. I tried to find out the offending IP address, but all the logins for the last week (which is how long I'm saving logs) have been coming from one and the same ISP.

Evidents (or chain of Evidence) is a really tricky thing.
- For starters you should need to eliminate anything that can be edited(or faked). (self protection for being tricked in doing something in good faith.)
- And in addition using player conversation as proof for anything ... is a really dangerous mine field.

(But I'm kicking in open doors ... )
