Maybe a small bleeding affect for any damage you take though I don't see that being the perfect solution

Aiming at someone oughta make a bow-string-pulling sound effect...

I think the main problem here isnt the "I got 1shot by a RB" but rather he got shot behind a wall.

Combat in HnH does not give Rangers the ability to shoot again if his 1st shot doesn't kill his target. (Not talking bout slings here since slings cant penitrate high armor class). Since if it doesnt kill the target, he will either run away or come chase you down.

I think (even though I am a Ranger myself) ranged attack dmg should be reduced for every wall you shoot tru so that a shot that would normally 1shot you, will be mostly deflected by your armor (That's if you have average/good armor), cause realisticly you wont be able to shoot "over" a wall without sacrificing some accuracy / power.

Although I think it would be neat if you "knew" someoen was aiming at you, I think it has to be made so your Perc X Exploration VS shooter's Stealth should count if you can detect if someone is aiming at you, since if one is not "alert" of their surroundings he/she would not realise someone is hiding in the bushes (so as to speak) taking aim, likewise if a ranger has bad stealth, he would be easily spotted cause he did not camoflauge well.

This is just my though and ideas for this.

+1, good way to find a useful incorporation for stealth :D

I love how when I first started playing, I chose to be a Ranger. Everyone bashed me for it. Saying they suck, melee is better. Now, A few weeks down the road, got myself a bow and gear. Rangers are killing everyone. Although, I'm not much of a raider or random killer. Atleast this proves I can defend myself if needed. I honestly don't see anything cheap about a Ranger's bow. Yeah, you can get shot from the shadows. You can get hit from walls, off-screen, and all that. But if you feel insignificant, why don't you just grab yourself a good Ranger's bow and do the same? May the faster and better man win. Atleast that's a possible solution, unlike raging on the forums about it being tuned down or removed. When really, melee is still way more powerful than ranged. It is kinda odd that it completely disreguards armor. Unless of course that guy's bow was godly. But as for the game being based off Myth and old legends and crap, wasn't the bows one of the most powerful and dangerous weapons used in mass numbers back in the day?

You're thinking of lance. And then pike. And then musket.

This right here. :)

I always wanted to be a ranger, was going hard for it before I died, then I kinda just said fuck it, now I'm sad I didn't pursue it, but I'm not going to cry to nerf it, instead I'm just eating tons of mothzarella and buffing MM ^ ^;

the problem is you can fight a melee guy with a ranger bow in melee combat and easily win. i could easily let of 3 shots before someone was able to break my defence. all melee "moves" should either reduce aim, or stop it completly. if iam dashing and jumping etc, you should lose your aim.

I think one of the problems is there really is no skill I can raise to increase my chance of surviving a ranger. With someone attacking you in melee, you can raise your melee so its harder for them to break your defense. Two people fighting with equal melee combat and there won't be a 1 shot ko.

With ranged the only stat of the target that affects anything is agility and even so, it only lowers the minimum damage. They can still hit for max damage no matter how much agi you have. Also, a good ranger would probably have 600+ perception I doubt few very good players have more then 300+ agi (I could be wrong, I don't know everyones stats). Melee is consistence while there is more of a chance involved with ranged.

It just seems like there are a lot more options for defense against Melee then there is against marksmanship (again, I could be wrong, maybe its my butthurt speaking).
