It would be kinda funny though, to think of someone doing that.

But it isn't as game breaking as a palisade at least, but then again Jorb fixes that so you don't loose your home as well.

On the otherhand, if someone were to claim over both your logout point and your hearthfire point was covered by someone's stake claim or worse, your claim got overriden by a village claim, I believe you will not be able to log in at either point, thus rendering your character completely unplayable, literally (correct me if I am wrong at some point, I'm sure I am somewhere).

The guy that griefed me claimed over the cabin where I was asleep in a bough bed and over my hearth fire. I could log in but in order to even move I had to turn on criminal acts.

I'm not sure why it was possible for me to log in since I was now on someone else's claim... Thinking it over, yeah, I should have been unable to log back in to either point. Maybe it only works with villages? Someone with a village will have to test.

Now you can return the favor a bit. Move your claim elsewhere and palisade around the claim. Now he cannot access his claim so that he can place a stake anywhere else and will have to live claimless for the rest of his player life.

It is mainly for such reasons that I am building walls around quite a large area around my home. I do not want any fun stuff to happen to my claim. Plus it's good being able to walk around without your gates open ;) The advice to the author of this thread: wall yourself in fast after the cupboard decays or at least claim your stuff(new stuff).

Oh, Jorb declared the sealing in illegitimate, removed the claim, moved the cupboard and very kindly also removed a log they had cut which was stuck in the side of my house in an unsightly fashion. Since he removed the claim it would seem he knows who put it there and if he chose to had the option to send them a pm explaining his actions.

And I did put a claim up pretty fast after that, oh yes.

I was only three or four days old when the griefers hit so I hadn't ground up to yeomenry yet at that point. The claim and pallisade look pretty sturdy to me right now, given that it is only meant to be a temporary base.

you can login at your hf no matter what claims are over it as long as you have one.

Do you think I would incur the wrath of jorb? I was traveling looking for a nice place to set up shop with better proximity to resources I found a real nice looking palisaded home.. There was no claim but a hearth fire there and one of the gates was open. So I went ahead and moved in, moved my stuff and have been building stuff up. Found a key to one of the gates in a cupboard so now I have free access and once I get enough rope I was going to wall it in with my own palisade network so that it was better secured and possibly build a battering ram later to take down his gates.

My reasoning

He left the gate open, he left it unclaimed, he left a key, and he left a modest farm. (Saddly no wheat. However carrots, tea, hemp, pumpkin, grapes)

It's unclaimed so it's open game. The fact that it was open and the keys are in there may possibly hint that the occupant may have left the area.

What happens if the person logs back in though?

Which is where there's a problem. Currently debating on out-right destroying it over time or just walling it in and being done with it.
