he completely gimped his character by having one stat way above the others before the others were at a decent level. now (if he was still alive) if he wanted more con, or agi, or whatever, he'd need 400+ FEP to gain a level in those stats.

As a villager, his civilian skills are entirely too spread out, mostly outclassed by specialist, and there generally are plenty in villages. Second, he has so much strength but so little of everything else, particularly constitution and agility which makes him a glass cannon; this also in itself makes it hard for him to raise his weak stats because his strength is so high.
