You give scents to LS, demand death of person who stole or explanation, or whatever they stole and something to repay the tracking expenses. Killing everyone? That's pretty pointless.

Extortion is much better, you can do it a couple of times, and if it comes down to the third time you just kill them.

I don't think you should be talking about killing everyone being pointless

Sir, I was not part of Sodom at that time. And as I've stated, our policy in the matter has changed overall.

I seriously wasn't in Sodom back then, I wouldn't even know exactly what happened then, and to me it's pretty ancient history. I was still in Brohalla until quite a while after it happened, I had HEARD of it, but I hadn't even traded with Sodom once until a few weeks after the Congress thread.

Big factions have such thing like diplomacy and politics. Thats why we don't just kill each other. If we will fight there will be 80% loss from both sides, this what really keeps us from that. Also we don't demand death, because any case loosing a player is a big loss for city.

When we caught just thiefing noob we summon him and put letter with explanation what will be next in his inventory.
But if he got next time with few friends from same village - its better to nuke it.
Of course you don't raid for 1 apple, maybe not for 2, maybe for 3 ? or for sure for 4 ? Everybody have its limit of patience.
In such things all depends from situation and all up to people who tracking.
I prefer to give thiefs work to repay damage, some prefer to kill him publically in AD near totem, some wait till he online and hunt... some kill right away on HF...
Everybody can choose what to do, because its criminal... he was understand what he doing and what will follow.
I know rangers from AD can sometimes be cruel... but some situations showed that untied ends led to drama. People whom we left to live took murder and was going around killing noobs.
Also some of them still remember russians genocide in previous world... so they have no mercy to griefers.

You know its always that people see everything best from his point of view. But to see reality you need to look from other point.

lol at any nation trying to play themselves off as good and reasonable when every faction has hands drenched in blood of civilians

Interesting to draw a line between combatants and civilians here. How would you suggest to distinguish those properly in h&h?

Especially when they purposely disguise themselves, notably the combatants disguised as civilians which has been used several times in in world. Two of them I know of is when Darkren feigns to be a newcomer and being a tempting target for Vitterstad raiders to attack but suddenly dawning his combat gears to turn the tables (this was before AD absorbed Vitterstad). Also crfernald used this to escape from Sodom rangers.

given your experience one should think you can generally distinguish those who can actually do you harm

Well that might be true when I face someone 1on1, but in a greater political sheme I cannot just tell wether a faction might be dangerous or not. Also just because someone can't harm me personally does not necessarily make them civilians.

I agree. We cannot tell who is strong before he shows his strength.
Somebody new can make something like AD and jump out right here, with army and big supply city.

Also for me civilians is people who have no combat skills. Even after our recomendation so every cityzen must have 300mm and 300perc, we still have such few in AD.
