Well no and yes. Rams can travel far before breaking down so you'd need to be patrolling outside your walls.

If 20-30 tiles is far, yes.

Did you test this recently? That's not what we experienced but he might have still been tinkering with the values then. (or we did a sloppy test, that could be too)

edit: don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to be proven wrong here, I was under the assumption that rams could travel just a bit further than draw distance.

Test done at Ironwell ~8 weeks ago was low q ram could move 20 tiles exactly on paved road. If no values were altered after that, there's a guide for you.

We knocked down the walls here to build brick between around a week ago. Ram was build in the crook there between the two rightmost walls to be removed. We knocked down all but the furthest west wall before it dropped. That's as far as it was allowed to move. It's 16 tiles of direct space, but it was moved against walls too, and I assume that counts as a movement. Seems to be around 20 spaces total movement. You can clear the trees that far back. Rams also have to initially dry for their 24 hours, giving the defenders plenty of time to find it if they're paying proper attention. A player who can break walls can just walk up and smash them.

That's funny because, even though I probably fought you longer than anyone else, I still respected you.
