Defending Oneself

Postby Chisame » Sun Oct 24, 2010 2:08 pm

I used to be part of a village with people I knew. Turns out they're being jackasses so I left, and believe I'm in danger of being killed.

They have 2~3x my equips/stats, using Gilbertus client with a larger screen then myself, and I've got a palisade wall without them having a key.

Any ideas on how to stay alive?

I suppose those guys cannot break palisades by hand? Make sure you have a good view on the area surrounding your palisade and check it a few times a day for possible rams. Meanwhile raise you marksmanship and probably try to trade for a decent bow. When those guys now build or use a ram in front of your gates, you should at least be able to drive them off with your bow. As long as you don't leave any scents you will be safe while you are logged off anyway.

A brickwall of course is even better than a palisade, so if you have access to the necessary materials build one asap.

For more advices read both guides in my sig.

I have read both of your guides, quite well =)
However, your village guide is what got me in this problem in the first place, as I did not want to give out keys to my home and they in turn planned to lock me out of the nearby mine that I was about to take and possibly kill me from the chat I've heard. (Their home is 2 SGs away, mine is 3 minutes walk.)

Yes they cannot break Palis by hand, but one can solo with just a ram. How far should I check from my Pali? 1/2/3 Maps?
My marksmanship is only in the 20s, and knowing they're outside of my home as of this moment I cannot gain LP safely to raise it. Currently using a Q33 Sling, but have Q27 Bow + Q30~ Arrows. Don't think I have resources at the moment to trade for a higher quality one =/

I've been contemplating that. Getting 1 of each crop for that situation.

I will just state for the record, we just want our things back. We really have no interest in you're mine that's so far away, when we have our own.

Anyway, like I said, we want the metal chests, metal meat grinder, bear cloaks, and metal saw, I think there was a few other items as well.

Simply put; We didn't spend 3hours to find your place to be treated like strangers, and give you these items. So once you arrange a time to give us them, we will be on our merry way.

P.S. You can keep McKay, I'm fed up of this stuff he pulls. If he can't stop starting drama and twisting tall tales, he can stay down there.

McKay let you into the village.
Deal with him to get your stuff back because I only know he moved the Meat Grinder into my home.

And it still doesn't change the fact that I know you're going to kill some, if not all of us.

Stating the fact that one has the ability to kill someone, and saying one is going to kill another are two completely different things. The fact that he had the ability to possibly one shot was brought up several times, yes. But zero intent to kill was brought up, merely frustration at how we were treated. Three hour trip to bring you supplies to help you along, not to mention give your village access to a mine where /we/ do all the work to break in, and we're treated as strangers.

Yes we were frustrated at how we were treated, and yes things were said, but zero intent of killing would have occurred had you not decided to destroyed the battering ram, which was far away from your village, and blocked us out of your brother's land. You all are supposed to be friends, and this is how you treat each other?

Either way if our help was unwarranted why were we not told "no thank you, we can handle it." Why allow us to waist our time traveling, and building, to only destroy what we created hours before we were going to break through?

All that aside, I agree in that we would like our stuff back. Just arrange the time, there's no point in killing you all. Or in the least I don't think you're worth the effort.

If i were you i'd kill one of them and
then camp the body from the position
no one would be approaching, when
someone cleverly comes to check out
the body with all the gear still on it
you take them out, the pile of loot gets
bigger and more fools wander to their
deaths with the illusion of riches luring
them closer.
