Cleaned out!

Postby Exil » Fri Nov 12, 2010 1:37 am

How irritating it is to have all my stuff gone. there was about 3 cupboards worth of good Items. Now they're gone. I lost alot of meat and Bones and They took most
of my chickens. I don't take this very seriously, but it just doesn't seem fair to me. I'm at a loss because I need to feed 5 other people too. To put it bluntly, There was a small house with a Kiln in another section of the fencing, If you stole anything, I must applaud how crafty you could be. I need a new place to stay or to make a new charcter in a village so I can be sure not to let this happen again.

I was working on it, a friend was on working on Yeomany also. and no, It wasn't up for grabs, If I build a fence around something it is implied that no one enters

Ummm... not to be mean but this is HnH. If it is not claimed it is implied that it is free. There is absolutely no game mechanic that says you are a thief if you take something on unclaimed land. What's more there are tons of people who don't care about that and go up and down the rivers stealing anything that's not behind a brick wall, or people who routinely scavenge abandoned settlements with claims who might do it by accident if your stuff looks out of repair. Security first.

And I'd suggest trying to find you some town or village to work with. If you're working to help other people as it sounds there are probably plenty that would have you.

Implying something does mean nothing in this game. Claim your land asap and also build at least palisades. Somebody taking stuff from unclaimed land isn't even considered a thief in common h&h sense.

And while you're at it move well out of sight of the nearest river for large screen resolutions. Living on a river without a brick wall is suicide, even with a brick wall you'll get sniped and someone will glitch through it or knock it down eventually if it looks like you have something they want inside.

I'll take heed to the advice. I admit I should've claimed my land. I guess the early bird gets the worm.

Living on a river in full view, with a pallisade.

I think that's a little too far saying you'll need a brick wall...

But anyway, the person who takes bones and meat probably isn't too high leveled, and was probably starving too. In some areas where it takes over an hour just to get into a trade lane, the population is scarce, and there's no laws it's survival of the fittest. Bones and meat really aren't worth much so I'm sure you could make that stuff up in no time if you did the same thing and just rode up and down the river and took whatever you saw that wasn't behind a claim.
